River Island to open at Pavilion KL This Year

UK's successful high-street retailer River Island will be setting its foot on Malaysian store by the third quarter of this year with the opening of its first store in Malaysia and the third in South East Asia at The Pavilion Kuala Lumpur.

With 50 years of experience in high street retailing, River Island will be joining other UK high street retailers that have strong presence in Malaysia since the last 10 years such as Miss Selfridge, Tops
hop, Dorothy Perkins and the latest addition, Ted Baker.

To date, River Island has 200 stores within the Britain and Ireland, with 29 stores in Middle East, Europe and South East Asia. This made River Island as one of the largest and most successful privately owned companies in the UK.

Unique and outstanding designs plays an important role within River Island and it is the key to the company's success. They design nearly everything that they sell, from menswear to womenswear, swimwears to footwears and so on. Although the company has been established for half a century, its designs appeals more to the younger generation set.

For Spring/Summer 2007, River Island brings you a plethora of moods, colors and prints for you to choose from. For men, graphic tees are a must in their closet.

The highlight of the menswear collection includes co
tton tee in tree bark print with the words "Save our Planet" in hot pink emblazoned across the chest to skull print tee in fluorescent yet eye-catching colors, faded blue jeans with laid-on pockets, three-toned striped polo tees, and military rolled-up sleeve shirts.

For women, River Island has created four looks for the season and they are Coney Island, Couture, Calico and Collette. Embraced the fun, warmth and excitement of the happening Coney Island in New York with printed tie neck top, a pair of skinny faded jeans, golden platform in faux snake skin and a patent white clutch.

If you prefer to dress as a front row seater at ultra-glam fashion shows, this satin dress with graphic print (think Pucci), pair with a metallic sling court sandals, and topped with the oversized sunnies with diamante details is enough to put Anna Wintour to shame!

For something simple and subtle, printed cotton shift dress, a raffia wedge and pocket slouch satchel from the Calico look would be just fine for a working girl like you who wants to escape from the sombre white shirts and black pencil skirts.

Fancy for that en vogue French girl chic, Collette is the answer. How to get it? Mix a white smock top with satin bow, a pair of metallic t-bar peep toe sandals with an oversized sunnies in white plastic frame. Once done and you're ready to hit the rues of France. Simple as that!

If you can't wait for the KL store to open then you can always visit its superstore at Singapore's Vivo City, with another one opening soon at Raffles City.
