Out Of This World ... Z Zegna Spring/Summer 2008

The reason why I don't cover too much on menswear because face the fact, we men wear the same thing every day, every month, every season, and every year. Unlike women's wear with thousand and one silhouettes and styles surfacing season after season, men, zilch!

But somehow Z Zegna, a younger diffusion line by Italian menswear manufacturer Ermenegildo Zegna seems to captivate my attention. Befitting with its young and trendy nature, the brand is not just a mere diffusion line that, like most of other secondary or tertiary line, overshadowed by its parent brand style, Z Zegna moves away from Ermenegildo's prim-and-proper style and come up with its own brand of unique menswear style.

Opening its show at last year's Milan Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2008 fashion presentation was a cool and futuristic white long desert jacket that looks like scrunched shirtdress worn with funky ankle white boots and ruched long sleeves and accessorized with white futuristic sleeping mask-inspired shades. Later, sexy see-through chunky knit tank worn with drawstring shorts and knit sweater worn with lamb nappa skinny fit trousers followed.

Sense of edginess followed with an outrageously sexy sweater with plunging cowl neck exposing the model's muscular chest and smartly paired with a pair of shiny long black trousers, which is truly metrosexual.

Want to walk under the spring mist and rain with style? Then do it with Z Zegna's patent leather cape in shiny pale gray with single breast and paired with gray pants and matching grayish shirt.

As a brand whose main line is well-known for its immaculately tailored suits, Z Zegna also comes with its own collection of stylishly tailored and body-fitting suits paired with funky hats, representing the true spirit of Z Zegna itself.

Vests, the fashion staples of the 90's which made its remarkable return since the last Autumn/Winter season also makes its grandiose appearance in the collection, along with smart waistcoats.

The iconic style of Batman, the all-black caped crusader is immortalized in the collection with black jacket with an extensive cape attached to it. Black shorts are flared, making them looking like skirts, while chunky knitted tank top made its encore in black and paired with black skinny long pants.

There's also a black wide-necked top in, yes you guess it, black worn with amazing and stylish shiny trousers that probably waterproof.
