Bottega Veneta To Open at Starhill Gallery

It's been a while we haven't heard from Bottega Veneta. After closing down its Avenue K store, the brand famous for its woven leather bags and luxury goods is back in our fashion scene.

This time, Bottega Veneta has chosen an ideal venue to make its presence clear among its loyal lo
cal as well as international fans who have made Kuala Lumpur as their favorite spot to shop, and that venue is no other than the swankiest shopping jewel in town, Starhill Gallery.

Although no details were dispensed on the store width and its interior concept, but the most important thing of all is that Malaysian Bottega fans can once again indulge in those glitzy goods that spell pure luxury and sophistication from the Italian brand.

So, what will be in house at the new Bottega Veneta store? Well, for women's ready-to-wear, creative director Tomas Maier has incorporated a sense of simplicity plus a bit of drama in detailing with layers of liquid fabrics such as jerseys and wools were utilized in the new collection.

Taking fashionistas and fashion editors' breath away during the fw08-09 presentation held in Milan last February was the opening piece - blue wool jacket adorned with rippled pieces of wool fabric and matched with a pair of sheer black leggings and gloves.

Old days nuances of the six
ties and beyond were also present in the new collection, with body-hugging yet feminine silhouettes, soften structures, and elegance were all thrown in. Tops are graced with the presence of peplum details on waists, as well as sharp and strong shoulders while evening dresses are made unembellished and flows gently over a wearer's body, as if you are covered with water.

Best of all, not a single cute and furry animals like raccoon, fox, or chinchilla were sacrificed to be a part of this amazing fall/winter collection!

On the menswear side, Maier used Irving Penn's photographs as his reference point as well as some style cues from (probably) the mechanics on duty.

Using pallid earthy tones with dashes of gloomy gray equivalent to London skies, the menswear collection opens with rugged ensemble of gray jumpsuit and fur-trimmed outer jacket.

Leather jackets provides trendy approach and paired with baggy denim pants, while a number of models were seen sporting a Charlie Chaplin-inspired look of double-breasted outerwears and baggy slacks.

Last but not least, Bottega Veneta fanatics can also look forward towards the enticing accessories offerings by Maier for both spring/summer and fall/winter.

Topping Maier's recommendation list is no other than the limited edition Barcelona Large Cabat in oxide platinum. Only 500 pieces were made and each bag comes with a numbered plaque inside.

The price? Well, consider parting with a good approximate sum of RM 23 762.60 as a good investment for style. Besides, Bottega bags are always in style no matter what the season is!

Bottega Veneta's fall/winter 2008 collection and Barcelona Large Cabat will be available at Bottega Veneta store, opening to the anticipating public soon at Starhill Gallery.
