Mrs. Beckham Designs Do Sell After All!

Style maven and former pop star Victoria Beckham has proved to the world that her brand of the same name is after all, on par with the likes of Dolce & Gabbana and Dior.

While many fashionistas have changed the course of their shopping directions from walking with pride and elegance into Gucci to sneaking into Forever 21 or MNG with a bad-looking wig and pair of oversized shades on at times like these, for Victoria Beckham emulators, it’s a totally different story.

Everyone knows that she just launched her own atelier and classy ready-to-wear line recently, right? Well, here’s the sequel to the previous story: her clothes have been sold out in the US, London, and Manchester!

It may sound too good to be true but the truth is, it is true after all. Her collection of shifts and sheaths, which are reflections of her style, obviously Roland Mouret-esque and retails from as low as RM 3600.00 to RM 10800.00 (US$1000.00-US$3000.00), have been snapped by her emulators soon after the first shipment arrived.

Lauding her collection as ‘a range that encapsulates a new timeless style of dressing and each garment is testament to a love of fashion and the female form’, all of the 10 designs, which were supposed to make its official debut next spring have all sold out at Selfridges in London in just five minutes time while only three garments left in Selfridges Manchester as of 4th December (now sold)! To create more buzz and interest, Victoria even took the liberty to wear her own creations and let the countless paparazzi do their job.

In New York, a spokesperson from legendary New York retailer Bergdorf Goodman told New York Magazine’s cultish fashion blog The Cut that half of the stock has been sold in just less than a week.

"I don't have a doubt in my mind that these special pieces will sell out," Linda Fargo, Bergdorf's senior vice president, Fashion Office & Store Presentation said. "Our gals still want the rare and hard-to-find pieces, and especially things that are so flattering and well made. They're sexy but elegant at the same time — a lethal combination for my money."

Besides the US and the UK, Victoria Beckham Collection is also carried by other notable retailers around the world. For example, Middle East’s chicest multi-brand boutique du jour Villa Moda carries her collection in both Kuwait and Dubai stores; while her Hong Kong fans too get the chance to be dressed by her for the line is carried by the high end multi-brand icon Joyce.
