The Autumn Whispers...

Although we are yet to enjoy the full blooms of Spring and soaked in the sunshine of summer, fashion weeks around the world has been buzzing with what's in and what's hot for the upcoming Fall and Winter, which should be another six months from now. Paris much venerated fashion house Louis Vuitton, under the direction of Marc Jacobs, has replaced the overtly sexy look with a much subdued look. Held at the Petit Palais, the venue where LV launched the newly renovated Champs-Elysees store cum the first Louis Vuitton Maison in the world, a combination of young and old (just imagine rapper Pharell Williams and iconic actress Catherine Deneuve snubbed together with free-flowing champagne HAHAHA!!!) and Pharell's single "Can I have it like that", featuring Gwen Stefani blared within, complements the catwalk.

If plethora of colors and the "back to the 80's"-inspired theme were the main theme for the latest Spring/Summer Collection, well expect a domination of black and earthy tones with a sprinkle of screaming hot pink, calming beige and leopard print in audacious red. Fabrics such as lambskin, cashmeres, minks and grey tweeds used throughout the collection. Big anorak-style hoodies, quilts, full skirts or cropped clam digger pants with dresses worn over has brought the new meaning to the lexicon of COOL. The collection were accessorized with oversized sacs and the bum bags in multicoloured printed mink that they looked comically fresh. For clothes, expect cropped duffle jackets, knits in in ecru and putty, Stam in an embroidered camel cardigan, wrap shirt dress and jackets were hemmed with fur and sometimes as oversize as a rubber ring. The new collection will be available at the soon-to-be-open Louis Vuitton store at the prestigious Starhill Gallery, which will be open in July.
