Our lady of reinvention and numerous Grammy Awards winner, Madonna is joining the league of her juniors (think Jennifer Lopez, her so-called ripoff Gwen Stefani and Victoria Beckham) into designing her own fashion line. Yes, everybody in this world knows that she has a strong penchant in fashion and her style is one of the most copied styles of the century.
Called M by Madonna, the line is a fruit of collaboration between Madonna herself and Swedish fashion retail giant, Hennes & Mauritz (H&M). Working hand-in-hand with the H&M's head of design department, Margarita van den Bosch, the line is a reflection of Madonna's personal and modern spin on her wardrobe.
'Madonna has an impressive feel for fashion and trends. She was extraordinarily style conscious, passionate and was involved in even the smallest details of every design. There is no doubt that Madonna's influence is reflected by the 'M by Madonna' line', stated Margareta van den Bosch regarding the collaboration in a press release released by H&M.
The multi-talented singer/actress/songwriter who had recently completed her Confessions Tour, on the other hand expresses her excitement over the creation of her debut fashion line as well as her first fashion foray in 24 years of her career.
'I've made no secret of my love of fashion over the years. Working with Margareta and H&M was an exciting and new creative challenge for me. I'm really happy with the results and look forward to wearing 'M by Madonna' along with the rest of the world', concluded Madonna.
M by Madonna will be in H&M stores March 2007 and good news for Asian fans, the Swedish retailer will be opening its first store in Hong Kong on March 2007, which coincides with the launch of M by Madonna. So no more long-distance traveling for Asian fashionistas! Cheers to Madonna and H&M!!!
