The Sexy Miss 60

Italian fashion house for the young, energetic and on the go women Miss Sixty combines eclecticism and quirkiness into its latest Spring/Summer 2007 collection.

While many fashion houses and brands, both luxury and middle-range opts to create a big wave of revival to the past trends of the 60's, 70's, and the 80's, Miss Sixty is taking cue from the styles of the further 90's and mix it with a bit of futurism taste.

You may call it Jem and the Holograms meets Spice Girls sort of collection, I bet the Spring/Summer 2007 collection will appeal the younger generation who grew up with both iconic music (and cartoon) sensation.

With hairs tide in two ponytails a la Emma Bunton or Baby Spice from U.K.'s former pop phenomenon Spice Girls, black fishnet stockings as worn by the Misfits (Jem's rival if you don't know), it's nothing but a sweet memory lane to the catwalk shows of the late 80's and 90's.

At the runway show held last year, models were parading and sashaying Majestic dress in colorful small floral motif prints and bias cut hem and frill details on both neckline and sleeves, yellow off-shoulder Raffle dress in white floral motif prints worn with denim bikini with flower brooch detail and golden criss-cross triple strap Matya sandals, black knitted Janet top with eyelet details, pinstripe Chiu jacket with matching Perlie trousers and Phedra shoes.

Denim, the fashion house staple makes an inevitable appearance in the new collection. High Binky trousers that looks more like a skinny slim fit jeans in dark blue denim, J-Gold slim fit trousers in washed denim, Chelsea shirt in washed denim matched with colorful floral motif print Rainy skirt with ruched hem and piping details, to name a few are the denim-based clothings that Miss Sixty is renowned for. This military-inspired moss green ensemble too reminds me to one of Dior's Fall/Winter 2006-07 pieces.

The new Spring/Summer Collection by Miss Sixty is available now at all Miss Sixty stores and selected departmental stores.
