C'est Simplement Lacroix!

French couturier and designer Christian Lacroix is back at his own design house after abdicating from the creative director throne of Italian fashion house Emilio Pucci for the British wonderboy designer Matthew Williamson.

If the last season collection (Fall/Winter 2006-07) was marvelously done with meticulous details applied to his designs, for this season, one may expect simplicity and some extraordinary attention on small details in his designs.

Geometric jacquard coat with pouffed sleeves on the elbow region, Spanish red bustle-back Empire dress, and short white t-shirt dress with pseudo-African prints are among the designs presented at Lacroix's runway show last October in the French fashion capital and world's most romantic city, Paris.

Like other designers, prints, no matter floral or geometrical, are gracing their frocks and separates. At Lacroix, most prints are done in geometric pattern with the base colors of black and white or red and black.

For separates, blouses, baggy full trousers, two-piece ensemble of navy blue top with ribbon-detailed sleeves and frill on hem, and knee-length skirt in fish-scale like prints, purplish plaid-like print three quarter shorts and single breasted jacket, and golden brown leather biker jacket with cuffed sleeves and bark effect details catches the attention of the audiences while for the evening wear, stunning dresses are detailed with silver-sequin embelishments, wavy and tiered frills and brooches in semi-precious colored stones.

For men, tuxedos, suits and shirts are all done in whimsical prints and matched with a pair of white tailored trousers and printed sneakers. Accessories for the Spring/Summer collection is made up of oversized bags, printed clutches, tasseled wedges with crinkle-cut wooden wedge in red, white and black, oversize necklaces and bracelets made from black and pearly white beads, and there's also a baby elephant shaped wicker tote that is unique and out of this world.

The Christian Lacroix Spring/Summer 2007 ready-to-wear collection is available at Christian Lacroix boutiques, multi-brand stores and selected department stores worldwide now.
