Drew Barrymore is the new face of Cover Girl

Hollywood actress and gifted filmmaker Drew Barrymore has been appointed as the new face and co-creative director for American makeup brand Cover Girl.

The appointment of Barrymore was made via the important qualities that she possesses - fresh, carefree, and energetic - plus her authentic spirit, upbeat personality and the natural beauty that has been one of her most important asset that charmed Cover Girl.

"Drew is a wonderful addition to the Cover Girl family and her role - both in front of the camera and behind the scenes as co-creative director - is new and different for the cosmetics' industry," said Esi Eggleston Bracey, Vice President and General Manager, Cover Girl Cosmetics in North America in a press statement released by the company.

"We wanted to honor Drew's passion as a filmmaker and are thrilled that she is not only lending her beautiful face to Cover Girl but also lending her artistic talents as the co-creative director of the ad campaign," he adds.

On the other hand, Barrymore was so excited and honored to be a part of Cover Girl family that has been running in the market for a steady 50 years.

"Cover Girl has managed to change with the times, yet stay in touch with women of all ages and backgrounds," she said. "To be chosen not only as the newest face of Cover Girl but also as co-creative director of my first TV commercial is truly amazing."

Joining the leagues of Tyra Banks, Rachel Hunter, Niki Taylor and Moly Sims, Drew Barrymore's first advertising commercial for Cover Girl will debut in January 2008.
