Awesomely Milkfed

Of all Asian society, the Japanese has the highest appreciation to the art of immaculate dressing up.

Either wearing a silk kimono or modern western clothes in the busy Ginza streets, they always love putting on best garbs no matter where they go.

When in Japan, you'll never fail to find tons of brands from all over the world as well as the Japanese ones. From cool handbags and jewelries designed by Nicky Hilton, Victoria Beckham, and Penelope and Monica Cruz by Samantha Thavasa to Brad Pitt-endorsed Ediwn jeans, Japan is a true fashion heaven in its own right .

But do you know that award-winning director and screenwriter, Sofia Coppola also had her own Japan-based fashion label called Milkfed? Known for her controversial film The Virgin Suicides and her remake of Marie Antoinette, Sofia founded the hip clothing brand ten years ago and co-founded it with friend Stephanie Hayman after graduating Mills College and California Institute of the Arts.

Though Sofia's appearances are tend to be elegant with her svelte body draped in lush evening gowns of famous couturiers namely Azzedine Alaia, Marc Jacobs, and Chanel, Milkfed depicts the youthful and spunky side of her with cool clothings and accessories to match. In sync perfectly to the Japanese haute-meets-hip youth fashion scene (think Harajuku Girls), Milkfed is one of the most sought after brands to date.

This Spring, Sofia returns back to her Californian roots as Milkfed takes California Romantic as its spring 2008 theme with lots of floral print elements, dots, heart piles, and folksy embroideries thrown into its designs. For t-shirt junkies, you will be amazed by the selection of tees featuring bold graphic elements with electrifying colors. There's also tees with classic puff sleeves and sexy wide necklines exposing beautiful necks of yours.

Celebrate the first day of spring with Milkfed Heart Pile bare dress in either navy or beige adorned with Heart Pile prints and drawstring waist, or relive back the hip days of the 70's hippies scene with its marvelous flower dress with short bubble sleeves, ruffled neckline and hems, and smocked details on the pockets in either black or brown. There's also a nice Flower mini skirt to pair with other Milkfed dazzling tops array.

Other must haves from Milkfed this Spring are chiffon top with long sculpted sleeves and wide square neck with button front, hip-hugging ribbon pocket jeans in indigo, feminine skinny jeans salopette, yellow heart knit dress with large heart detail, and Oui t-shirt dress with flared ruffled sleeves and wide neckline in black or yellow. Last but not least accessorize with colorful wedge sole pumps and cute Oui totes.
