Stars At Debenhams

UK’s top departmental store Debenhams may be ‘physically’ departed from our retail scene nearly two years ago.

Contrary to what you have heard and seen, the British retail establishment is actually still here, lingering just around the corner and waiting for a good time to make their encore.

If you’re an avid Debenhams’ shopper then I’ve great news for you. First, your dearly beloved British department store is slated to make its much-anticipated comeback to our retail scene probably later this year.

Located at the family-oriented shopping mall, The Curve, there were no further details about the new Debenhams store has been leaked to me.

But judging from what I saw few weeks back, the new establishment will be tad smaller than its former flagship at Berjaya Times Square.

Second, two world-renowned celebrities are causing great riot among Debenhams fans in UK and other parts of the world. Yes, pint sized Aussie pop superstar Kylie Minogue and former Spice Girl Mel B a.k.a. Scary Spice are the reasons why thousands of shoppers from all over UK flocking into Debenhams department stores.

Following to the success of her fragrance line and picturesque children’s book, the pop/dance diva from Down Under has recently forayed into another lucrative business, which is the bed linen business.

Known as Kylie at Home, the bed linen range gained its inspiration from some of vintage pieces that Kylie owned, as well as fashion shots. Best of all, she also participated in the collection designing process, which was done hands-on.

On the other hand, Debenhams has recently announced the appointment of Melanie B as the new face and ambassador of its lingerie line, Ultimo.

Famous for her curvaceous and voluptuous tanned physique; the former “Dancing with the Stars’” cast-off recently made her special appearances to Debenhams shoppers and fans at selected Debenhams department stores in London, Birmingham, and Manchester to promote the spring/summer 2008 Ultimo Lingerie line.

For spring/summer, the mood and inspiration were drawn from the romantic yet sunny Miami Beach aura.

Seductive working palette made of devilish red, sensuous black, off-white, and classy tones of grey complement the silhouettes and cuttings very well.

Adding a touch of romanticism is the intricate lace trims as detailing on some of the provocative intimate pieces.

Though I am still unsure whether Kylie at Home line will be launched in Malaysia as well once Debenhams officially open for business, well my die-hard Kylie fans, lets just keep our fingers crossed.
