What to Wear For Christmas Cruise Holidays? ... Resort 2009 collection

Summer has just begun but here and there, people have already busy talking about what's coming up in the next seasons to come.

To my surprise, stores all over KL and Singapore are busy liquidating their spring/summer stocks by holding great sales with prices slashed to more than 70 percent. Unbelievable but true.

Anyways, despite of the scorching sun
still standing high above our heads (translated as the ongoing summer season that is yet to end), fall/winter samples have already arrived for the press to shoot and if lucky enough, you may also get your hands on the resort collection months before they hit the stores.

And talking about resort (or cruise) collection for the next year, you might be wondering what to put on for the upcoming Christmas holiday cruise to St. Barts or maybe just floating yourself on the boat, navigating through the entire Caribbean sea, do you? Well my stylish folks, here are some of the hot and must snap resort/cruise 2009 pieces that should not be spared from the boutique racks come December and way up till winter ends.

For the upcoming cruise collection, slated to be in stores as early as November 2008, Stefano Pilatti incorporates three-pieces suit paired with wide-legged pants, pajama shirts, and structured bustier pieces into the line.

For example, there's a jumpsuit with sweetheart neck bustier and paired with baby blue pajama shirt, a suitable ensemble for both day and night onboard, but just don't use it as your sleepwear.

There's also a bustier skirt in shiny bronze fabric, paired with high-collared tailored stripe shirt, evoking the 60's by-the-sea appeal. To make your evening onboard a momentous affair to remember, invest in this evocative white dress with split plunging neck and black fabric detailing on the waist.

At Celine, Ivana Omazic channels the beauty of artworks created by Charley Harper and translated it into Celine's cruise collection.

Retaining a sense of timeless nuances, such as Palm Beach sequined dresses, images of animals such as owls, flamingos, and swallow, akin to those depicted on Harper's famous artworks, adorn the collection.

These elements are then mixed with the classic nautical theme to make the collection more interesting and holiday-style driven. Dresses sports voluminous backs while coats are made to look like sails swept by the wind.

As the sun falls down, embark on a romantic evening with a stunning evening dress complete with embellished neckline akin to a rope curling around your neck. This flowing dress will make you arguably the belle of the cruise.

Down south to the sunny seaside of Italy, Miuccia Prada of renowned Italian avant-garde fashion house Prada imbibed in sophisticated simplicity but not avant-garde.

The clothes feature clean shapes and mainly consists of nylon outer jackets with voluminous shoulders and puffed sleeves in black.

These jackets or coats can be paired with almost anything from tight capri pants a la Audrey Hepburn, green dresses with heavily encrusted beadings or just a bunch of t-shirts with necklace embellishments attached to the neckline.

Finishing the Prada holiday look are a bunch of Plexiglas chains and grommet trimmings t
o make your look equivalent to that of a goddess of elan.

The cruise collection 2009 by Yves Saint Laurent, Prada, and Celine will be available in their respective stores as well as selected high-end department stores worldwide soon.
