Red is Valentino

The last time I saw Valentino in Malaysia was nearly 15 years ago at City Square. Back then, City Square was the equivalent of Suria KLCC or Starhill Gallery from the 80's to the mid-90's.

As nations of South East Asia were hit by the economic recession, many designer labesl like Karl Lagerfeld, D&G by Dolce & Gabbana and yes, Valentino too ceased their operations in Malaysia. On that time, Valentino also has another outlet in Penang. Since then, Malaysians need to travel to its Singapore outlet to get their hands on the latest collection.

Last November, Italian couturier Valentino reopened its flgaship store in Kuala Lumpur after nearly a decade of closure. Located at the ever prestigious Starhill Gallery where the rich and famous do their shoppings, the new store was officiated by Valentino Asia Pacific CEO, Giovanni Di Salvo, CEO of YTL Group Tan Sri Francis Yeoh and Italian Ambassador, HE Analecto Feliani.

As usual, the store opening were graced by the attendance of local socialites and celebrities alike such as Bernie Chan, Soong Ai Ling, Ida Nerina and Ella to name a few. With a floorspace that spans 2700 sqft., the KL store is indeed the biggest Valentino flagship store ever opened in Asia.

Being a flagship store, fans can expect to a complete collection of ready-to-wear for both men and women, to-die-for accessories like handbags, shoes and watches as well as the second line aimed on the younger set called RED Valentino.

At the opening too, customers and media alike were treated to a preview on the pre-Spring 2007 collection which features yellow mini dress, a must have in your collection, silk blouses, pencil skirts and jackets with oversized white buttons and standup collars in colorful palettes of yellow, light charcoal, white and sand. Lace too is featured as one of the prominent elements for the pre-Spring 2007 collection.

The Valentino ready-to-wear Spring-Summer 2007 for men and women as well as Valentino RED collection are available in Valentino's KL flagship store now.
