On Thurdsay, press, buyers and customers thronged the seats at Fendi's Fall/Winter 2007-08 collection runway preview in the Italian fashion capital of Milan.Fur and leather, the two fashionable materials Fendi is known for, dominate the collection for the upcoming fall/winter season with a little updated touch by the fashion kaiser Karl Lagerfeld who has been designing for the Italian fashion house for ages.
Again, for the third consecutive season, belts and leggings in black and other dark colors continue to be the fashion mainstay. Here belts with double F detail buckle are worn over chinchilla fur jackets and full skirt.
Though the furry ones won't be a usual hit among our local fashionistas (thanks to heat and the 360 days of approximate sun), key pieces such as layered chiffon dress, velvet pencil skirt and jumper with giant sleeves are to die for. Not to mention the bags and shoes as well!
As usual, we manage to spot some of the celebrated figures at the show apart from Anna Wintour and Suzy Menkes whose presence at any fashion weeks are ubiquitous.
Ah, the kaiser Karl Lagerfeld. It's amazing how he could divide his creativity into three places - Chanel, Fendi and his own label. After all, this man rocks the fashion world!
Thandie Newton and Eve were among the Hollywood trinkets who add pizazz to the show. Eve, is that pup paw tattoos of yours fading? And Thandie, it's been a long time we haven't heard from you. New movie?
The young Fendi and err, the less young Fendi - Delfina and Silvia Venturini. If you all didn't know, Silvia was the genius behind the famous Baguette and Ostrik bags.Fendi Fall/Winter 2007-08 Collection will hit stores in early September to mid-October while the Spring/Summer 2007 Ready-to-Wear and Accessories are available at Fendi stores now.
