Ted Baker Opens at Bangsar Village 2

British retailer and UK's leading lifestyle brand Ted Baker opens its first Malaysian store at Bangsar Village 2 in Kuala Lumpur.

The Bangsar store too is the seventh Ted Barker store opened in Asia after six were opened last year with one each in Singapore, Bangkok, Hong Kong and Jakarta while another two were opened at the prestigious Bujurman Mall an
d Festival City in Dubai.

Catering to the all age group, the company was started out by Ted Baker in 1988 as a menswear store in Glasgow, Scotland. The first store was a huge success, thus prompting Baker to open more stores within the major cities of United Kingdom before launching his "Blue Baker" line in 1992.

In 1995, Ted Baker launches his "Ted Baker Woman" and "Ted Baker Lite" lines followed by the business expansion to Europe through franchising.

Three years later, Ted Baker made his grand entrance into the American market by opening his first s
tandalone store in New York. He also launched his "skinwear" and "underwear" line as well as the company's first website within the same year. Australia and New Zealand were his next destination and in 2004, Ted Barker, now a public listed company known as Ted Barker PLC debuted Down Under and launched the Phantom collection.

From 2005 onwards, more Ted Barker stores were opened around the world and the stores are operated by hand-picked trusted partners since 1994. While many of us prefers to be dressed in the American style that is more laidback, casual and contemporary compared to the European 24-hours tie-and-suit affair, I am happy to tell you that Ted Barker is far from the notion.

This season, the menswear collection is inspired by the Gothic soldiers, Urban prep, and Homespun ranchers that are fully inspirational and historically eclectic. Knitwears in cotton and lycra, shirts with pleat details, floral prints and pinstripes, jeans in light used wash and Japanese denim, and herringbone striped trousers to name just a few made the menswear collection for the season.

For womenswear, the vintage feel is injected into the collection and combined with modern sophistication. Urban city cool and Latino chic are two of the global moods that Ted Barker covered from the four corners of the world set for the ladies collection this season.

Dresses with deep V-neck, delicate embroidery detail on the necklines, full skirt strapless dress and silk tie waist dress in black are the dresses lineup while stripes is the pattern du jour for women's knitwear.

Not too forget are the extensive variety of accessories for both genders such as belts, bags, shoes, ties, scarves and even perfumes. There are also clothings and accessories for the young ones too as well as swimwears and innerwears.

Apart from the Bangsar Village store, a second store is expected to be opened at The Pavilion in Bukit Bintang later this year. The new Ted Barker Spring/Summer 2007 Collection is available now at its Bangsar Village 2 store so make your way there anytime soon.
