New Arrivals at Maizen

KL's favorite cult brand boutique Maizen is back with more brand lineup this season.

Apart from the current Spring/Summer 2007 collection from its current labels Plenty by Tracy Reese, Rebecca Taylor, Nanette Lepore, Not Rational, Miguelina and Lovelife to name a few, the boutique is bringing in more cult brands to surprise an
d enthrall fashion fans.

Those who are longing to be in the same dressing league as the likes of Hollywood celebrities like It girl Lindsay Lohan, the Olsen twins and the multi-talented hotel heiress Paris Hilton will be glad to know that starting this march, some of the biggest names in the fashion scene of New York and Los Angeles like Alric Suba, Norma Kamali for Everlast, CC Skye, La Rok, NFY Jeans, and Citizens of Humanity jeans are making Maizen their next home in Asia.

Designed for metropolitan women with taste in luxury by Lindo, a Parsons School of Design in New York, the name Alric Suba was taken from her mother's name to reflect grace, beauty and mystery. The label made its debut at Barney's New York in 2005 and became a hit among American fashion followers ever since.

A
ll Alric Suba's bags have the embodiment of minimalism chic, a downtown luxury feel and edgy through the usage of distressed leathers, restrained hardwares and muted color palettes. My personal pick from the label are Genesis bags in python and distressed cowhide and Archetype II clutch in suede with large bow detail on the front.

Celebrities love CC Skye. Why? The extensive jewelery and accessory line are irresistible, fusing the elements of glam rock designs with couture elegance. Debuted in Fall 2004, CC Skye collection has been seen adorning the ears, necks and wrists of Hollywood celebrities like Jessica and Ashlee Simpson, the ubiquitous Hilton sisters, Britney Spears, Janet Jackson and Daryl Hannah to name a few.

For the current Spring/Summer 2007 season, CC Skye presents you a delectable selections of jeweleries and handbags. From woven leather and 18k-gold chain bracelet which was seen on Hollywood party girl and daughter to crooner Lionel Richie, Nicole Richie to embossed coin necklace on long chain, you simply can't take your eyes away from them.

Add a number of bags from the brand such as these must-have and hold Ferrante bracelet clutch in embossed auburn alligator skin-effect leather with 18k-gold plated hardware and detachable bracelet, the roomy Brookie leather hobo bag in two colors - creme with black stripe or brown with cold stripe. Best of all, the Brookie bag features a gold frame decor on front with either CC Skye logo detail or golden skull.

Norma Kamali may be a foreign name to many of us but for fashion devotees, Norma Kamali is not only known for her superb creations but her creativity of presenting her collection in the form of MTV, a method which was unconventional back in the 80's.

Collaborating with soprtswear manufacturer Everlast, the designer has been given a mandate by the company to come with a line of women clothing for the brand and for the first time in Malaysia and probably Asia, Maizen is proud to bring in the line to the discerning fashionistas.

For jeans connoiseurs who are looking for a pair of jeans that is enough to match her dainty Manolos or Viviers, Maizen brings you two renowned jeans brands - NFY and Citizens of Humanity.

NFY jeans was conceived by Maurice Ohayon, the same genius behind that renowned Notify jeans. In fact, NFY can be considered as a difussion line for the Notify jeans.

On the other hand, Citizen of Humanity is one of the favorite among premium jeans connoisseurs around the world. Apart from the jeans, look out for Pop Art skull and bunny shorts or Collette boot cut jeans in Dark Madrid.
