Valentino Slouches Back

When he created the menswear collection for the Spring/Summer 2007 season, designer Valentino Garavan must have been either enjoying himself on a cruise around the Mediterranean, partake in a Safari trip somewhere within the Africa or maybe just chilling himself out near the Ipanema or South Beach watching the body beautifuls to make up his inspiration.

While he was known to many as the king of jet-setters since most of his haute couture creations have been worn by almost all jetsetters around the world, it seems curious when he decided to give his menswear look this season a slouching back moment, relaxing and waltzing away from the ultimate opulence, red carpet glamor and diva-ness that he have always been associated with.

If you are either in the mood of hunting for a graceful gazelle in the African Savannah, flirting with girls on the Brazilian or Florida beach (if you're not a high flyer then Batu Ferringhi beach in Penang would be enough) or maybe just want to hang around the house in your pajamas, Valentino's Spring/Summer 2007 collection is what you must look for.

Flashy yet skimpy swimming trunks prodded by tanned and muscular bare-chested models, light kintted sweater, tanned and distressed blazers, gray ribbed tank top with matching pants and crocodile skin duffel, belted Safari jacket and long-sleeved body-hugging tee were among the Valentino's essential this Spring and Summer months. Don't forget to take along its soft Terry towels with tassel details on the fringes and embroidered trademark logo for that name-dropping sake.

By the way, did I mentioned pajamas? Well, maybe you won't expect anything like the one worn by Playboy's Hugh Hefner but Valentino's pajamas are understated luxuries that any pajama afficionados should look to. Button front with rounded hems, the pajamas are in either paisley-printed gray or printed satin brown. Now, who said sleeping is not a luxury?
