Hail Couture.... Valentino's 45th Anniversary Celebration

Italian designer Valentino Garavan celebrates his 45 years of involvement in the fashion world with a spectacular celebration at the Ara Pacis Museum in Rome, the eternal city.

The exhibition features Garavan's selection of creations from the beginning of his career as a fashion designer to one of the most iconic Italian designers of the century. The celebration kicks off with the exhibi
tion opening on Friday at the museum designed by architect Meier, followed by a dinner at the Temple of Venus.

Oscar-winning set designer Dante Ferretti recreated the Temple with fiberglass columns that creates a stunning illusion compounded by the real-life and looming Colosseum that provides a surreal backdrop for an aerial ballet of
Valentino-clad fairies.

On the following Saturday, guests were treated to a couture collection presentation and black tie gala ball at the Villa Borghese. Guests includes royalties such as Empress Farah Diba of Iran, Princess Caroline of Monaco-Hanover, Princess Firyal of Jordan and Marie-Chantal of Greece; celebrities (Uma Thurman, Elle Macpherson and Sienna Miller to name a few), plus a number of Italian aristocrats and American creme de la creme. Not to forget the most important guest of all ... guess who?

Yes, US VOGUE's Anna Wintour and her editor-at-large Andre Leon Talley. The duo were at the party in Rome to join the celebration, along with other fashion editors who are not as prominent as her *wink*.

Most of the guests were clad in Valentino as a way to pay their homage to the celebrated designer and partied till the wee hours of the morning. Below are the snapshots taken from the event, thanks to Style.com!

The ever-stunning Brit Liz Hurley a.k.a Mrs. Arun Nayar in one of Valentino's creation - multi-tiered white tulle gown with embellished bodice. By the way, where's Arun?

Well, well... looks like she learned a lot from the devil herself - Miranda Priestly. Anne Hathaway looks amazing in Valentino. Love the train!

Valentino Garavan accompanies Her Royal Highness Princess Rosario of Bulgaria to the Black Tie Gala Dinner, Villa Borghese.

The soap diva Joan Collins is making her grand entrance to the party. I wonder who is that man standing beside her. Hmmm!!!

Two beauties from two different continents - former model Elle Macpherson of Australia and American actress cum former model Uma Thurman.
