Though the designer is well-known for her trademark minimalism-influenced designs, the Resort collection displays difference that distinguishes it from the rest of her past and present ready-to-wear collections.
Here, for Resort 2008, Miuccia showcases her strong passion in skirts by giving them volume thus creating a blooming effect as if they are flowers blossoming in the early morning of Spring. Volumes are also applied on nicely pleated cotton toga dresses.

Asian and vintage style influence prevails in this collection through Prada's own interpretation of Chinese's Cheongsam. What differs the cheongsam apart from your typucal and traditional cheongsam is that Miuccia has been added a little fold element plus two front pockets into the creation thus giving it a little western feeling. For accessories, most fashion editors favored the painted sculpted satin mule which resembles a blooming rose.

I also love the accompanying shoes as the accessory of choice because on the vamp knot of the shoes resembles a red butterfly fluttering its wings, a symbolism to a fine Spring day.
Prada Resort 2008 collection is available at Prada stores next year. In September, Prada opens its second KL store at the ultra-glam Pavilion Kuala Lumpur.
