Who We've Spotted At ... Chanel Cruise 2008 Show

Santa Monica plane hangar was the place to be for Chanel fans and the media alike. After taking over New York's Grand Central station last May and previously, staging the catwalk on a fleet of Parisian bus, German's fashion Kaiser Karl Lagerfeld recreates the stunning yet magical moments by channeling the mood of air traveling.

The set w
as built based on an exclusive yet swanky airport lounge complete with three cocktail bars, personalized flight bags for every seats and a the authentic arrival and departure screens listing Chanel Line flights.

Channeling air-travel at its best, Chanel's Cruise 2008 collection features a mix of sportif and utilitarian look through the show opener - a jumpsuit worn by models Raquel Zimmerman and Brad Koening that looks like a cross-breed between a pilot and first class seat passenger.

The show continues with a separates of black jacket and short skirt inspired by the air hostess's uniform, embellished halter top with blue straight-cut jeans adorned with small silver planes details and matching denim jacket with smocking, tunics, dresses and a number of pieces for men.

Black dominates the collection followed by a splash of bright and lively hues and bold prints that makes dressing for cruising much more fun and interesting. Model Sasha Pivovarova dressed in a houndstooth tweed jacket with tiered knee-length skirt in olive while Brad Koening reappears on the stage again in swirl-printed piped gray jacket with matching shorts and a pair of high-cut sneakers.

If you're looking for something elegant and less-grandma for the after-six event on board, the black and white swirl print and multi-tiered halter dress is the perfect dress to wear.

As usual, the show ended with the Kaiser himself appeared to the applauding crowd of socialites, celebrities, fashion press and the buyers. The collection will be available at all Chanel boutiques in either the first or second quarter of 2008. If you missed the flight, here are some of the takes from the event, thanks to the ever-stylish and hip Style.com, your number one resource to fashion and everything that's in and hip!

Mrs. David Beckham a.k.a Posh Spice in a Turquoise cropped jacket by Chanel. She has just launched her denim and sunglasses line that doesn't appeal to me much. Nice try Victoria!

The rehab princess Lindsay Lohan before, after, and before the rehab. We don't know what's so special about that place that makes her want to come back for more. Can you share the excitement with us, Lindsay?

The multi-million twins a.k.a Full House alumni. The sisters are currently running their first serious fashion label called The Row and the focus is more on couturized tees if I'm not wrong. Wow, Galliano eat your heart out! ;)

Milla Jovovich and partner Carmen Hawk's foray into fashion bore fruits of success. Not only they secured a deal with Spanish fashion label MNG, their label Jovovich-Hawk too is gaining more followers thanks to their chic and signature mixed looks.

Former Mrs. Bruce Willis-cum-Mrs. Ashton Kutcher looking great in Chanel's ensemble top to toe. Any possibilities to front Chanel ads next year? We're waiting!

Finally, the godfather, the general and the king himself, Karl Lagerfeld with Vogue Paris editor, Carine Roitfeld. He's heading to Monaco next year and the show will be staged on ... you guess it... yachts :D
