Neiman Marcus Turns 100 with Special Treats

Next month marks the 100th year in business for American iconic retail institution Neiman Marcus.

The Texas-based retailer, which was founded in 1907 by Herbert Marcus, his sister Carrie and her husband A.L Neiman, went through a number of ups and downs through its century of operation.

100 years have passed but still, it managed to stand strong, poised and loved by fashion lovers all across the United States as well as shopaholics from the neighboring Canada and Mexico and international jetsetters who made US as the best spot to shop and namedrop at the same time.

In conjunction with the centennial celebration that will take place on September 10th, the date when the Marcus siblings and A.L. Neiman opened began their business, the company has arranged for a dozen of its vendors to create special merchandises or memorabilia to commemorate the event.

Out of the chosen dozen, Italian luxury goods manufacturer and high style purveyor Prada comes out with 20 memorabilia items that will be exclusive to the high-end retailer. Each item will be adorned with "Prada for Neiman Marcus 1907-2007" embossed on handbags, heel plate, sole plate, or decorative tags.

The one-time exclusive collection retails at a price range of US$295.00 for a leather belt to US$8,890.00 for clutch made out of croc skin. Shoes starts from $995.00 for sporty ones and chalks up to $4,500.00 for croc skin pumps. Some items will be available at all Neiman Marcus stores nationwide while others will be available to selected stores.
