Katy Rodriguez at Maizen

In Malaysian fashion scene, the name Katy Rodriguez may sound foreign to most fashionistas but in United States, she is the queen of all vintage.

Her high-end vintage store Resurrection is one of the favorite vintage jaunt flocked by vintage fashion lovers in Los Angeles and New York as it carries a variety of apparels and accessories from the olden days by top-notch labels of Chanel, Hermes, Pierre Cardin, and Gucci.

After garneri
ng years of experience in buying and selling vintage clothes, she decided to come up with her own self-titled fashion label, Katy Rodriguez. Inspired by designs from the past, also known as, what else, vintage, her creations are also carried by top retailers around the globe including Saks Fifth Avenue and Harvey Nichols in Hong Kong. Rodriguez's clothing line is also carried online by Satine Boutique, one of the famous fashion stores in Cyberworld.

Hollywood royalties namely Sarah Jessica Parker, Liv Tyler, and Chloe Sevigny have been seen attending prestigious events in Tinseltown wearing her signature silk dresses while L.A's troublesome actress/singer Lindsay Lohan were caught on paparazzi lenses wearing Katy's black cris-cros dress from her eponymous collection debuted last year. Feminine-friendly, versatile and modern, Rodriguez's creations are perfect for all occassion and you can even wear the dress as skirt or vice versa due to its versatility.

For the first time in Malaysia, KL's cult brand store Maizen is proud to bring in Katy Rodriguez to discerning Malaysian fashionistas. For Fall/Winter collection, the pieces are classic and well-crafted in lush fabrics such as silk moire, taffeta, Japanese polyester crepe, and silk charmeuse that spells boundless luxury.

My pick of the crop from the Fall/Winter 2007 collection are Junior Dance Dress in three magnificent hues of magenta, black, and gold, Satori taffeta ruffle dress in black with either black, magenta or olive ruffle (Maizen co-owner Rekha Sen looked stunning in black Satori dress with olive tafetta ruffle at MIFA Awards Gala last night), and Sienna tea dress in charming red with black crinoline and black french lace.

To get your hands on Katy Rodriguez's must-wear vintage-styled collection, visit Maizen Maison at Bangsar or its second store-in-store outlet at Parkson Pavilion today.

its so sad not many people appreciate international brands like katy rodrguez.. her new collection is absolutely brilliant.. stunning.. names like Bettina Liano and Sass & Bide to Christopher Deane & Nicole Miller.. should be bigger in KL instead of just everyone knowing about the typical Guess & Topshop.. there's a much bigger world of fahion out there then KL "fashionista's" realise..

Hi there ... ermm, thanks for the compliments ... yes I do agree with you that bigger names like Sass & Bide or Bettina Liano aren't well-known here.

Maybe it's because these brands are lack of exposure on local fashion magazines and we are also lack of stylists like Rachel Zoe who has the power to turn these great brands into something that every fashionista must have.

But maybe the trend will change in 2008, who knew ... xD

Anyway thanks for taking your time visiting my humble blog and I really appreciate it :D
