Chloé Fall/Winter 2008

Soft summer frocks in the deadly freezing winter, would you believe that? Well people, believe it or not, that is what you will expect to see this coming freezing fall/winter seasons at all Chloé stores around the world.

Held at the Espace Ephemere Tuileries in Paris, Grammy Award-winning rapper Kanye West and fiancee, US VOGUE's Anna Wintour, Julie Gilhart of Barney's New York, and Linda Fargo from Bergdorf Goodman were here comfortably settled on white square pillowy seats, waiting with full patience to see what Melim Andersson is about to offer the fashion-famine crowds of the world come next fall/winter.

"She is a little vagabond, a little boheme, in spirit, and in her life," says current Chloé's Creative Director Paulo Melim Andersson on describing the characteristics of a Chloé girl in the next fall/winter season.

Using the sheer and airy chiffon as main medium, Melim Andersson has created a number of lightweight and fluid frocks, tops, and dresses with some are speckled with microflower prints that looks totally classic with a touch of shiny yet furry embellishments.

There's a sheer blouse with folksy beaded placket on the front that looks delicate and truly artistic paired with knee-high chiffon skirt adorned with embossed flower detailing that look quite like buttons in assorted sizes and shades of blue.

Next, a sheer printed tunic in microflower print with sculpted cuffed long sleeves worn with printed sheer leggings and pointed heels resembling armor shoes worn by medieval knights.

Another eye catching timeless ensemble one should not miss for fall/winter is black pinstripe vest decorated with furry appliqué work and diamante detailing worn over matching blouse with sheer long sleeves, embellished detailing at the front and pleated hem plus a smart tailored pants in the same hue as worn by Natasha Poly.

Frilly blouses and dresses aside, tailored single-breasted cinch-waist jacket with pleating on the shoulders teemed perfectly with off-white ruffly and embellished mini skirt. For fans of bugle beads, you will be enthralled with this magnificent piece - bugle beaded flapper dress with lilies appliqué and ruffled hem worn over printed black and white chiffon tie-front blouse with short ruffled sleeves. Finishing off the look is a posh python clutch (probably Saskia) and pointed-toe booties.

If sheer is not your cup of tea, then frocks in solid material should suit your fashion taste bud perfectly.

Choices include button-front dress with front flapped pockets, short bell sleeves and fur-trimmed collar as well as a touch of fur and crystal embellishment, tailored jacket worn over chiffon dress in floral print with ruffled collar, another tailored jacket in solid navy, double breasted and worn over sheer dress with ruffled hems and piped round neckline, as well as the luxurious white coat embellished with fur and beads plus fur-trimmed sleeves and collars.

If soft and plush furs of coyote, beaver, and fox dominate the ready-to-wear collection, the reptiles are ruling the accessories realm with pointed ankle booties and bags are crafted in plush and polished snake skin as well as python clutches with gold hardwares.

Another must have Chloé accessory of the season that any stylish woman should include in her fall/winter wardrobe is the leather clutch with tiny fabric fans details pinned with golden studs and arranged Swarovski crystals of various sizes.

Chloé's fall/winter 2008-09 collection will be in Chloé boutiques and selected retailers from end of August to late September while the spring/summer 2008 collection is in stores now.
