Zac Posen Takes Oz by Storm!

Come 3rd of April, stylish women of Oz are heading down to their nearest Target Australia outlets for a rampage - err ... a fashionable one, not political. The reason? It's the official launch of Zac Posen for Target!

Posen, a New York-based fashion designer known for is edgy take on haute couture, is t
he newest international fashion designer to join Target Australia's "Designer for Target" alum with fashionable alma maters, both local and international such as Stella McCartney, Josh Goot, Yeojin Bae, and Tina Kalivas to name a few.

Since its inception in 2006, the program has benefited thousands of Australian fashionistas, especially those who can't afford to purchase real designer items at designer price (usually starts around AUS$500.00 and above) by enabling them to access one-off wearable masterpieces by world renowned fashion designers without having to carry the burden of paying the full price of their main line.

For fall/winter 2008 (yes, it's fall/winter down under right now), Posen came out with two distinctive collections - Glamour and Tailored.

In Glamour, the collection's feel is a clash between two legendary styles of both Hollywood screen siren and the ancient Greek Goddesses.

Taking Pompeii red, black, true silver, Turkish coffee and imperial purple as working palette, the dresses are feminine in silhouettes, fitted to the body, and accentuated with traces of flowing Grecian elements.

Must have from this collection are Ottoman dress with mermaid silhouette, cowl neck jersey dress, Pompeii print dress, and ruched silk dress with intricately gathered skirt.

For Tailored, the 70's sense of style ruled the collection. Applying the same working palette as Glamour, the collection comprises of seasonal staples - wide legged pants, tie neck shirts a la Osie Clark, wide lapelled fitted jacket, asymmetrical flippy skirt, and printed pleated top with flat knot.

There's also a Grecian top with an attached scarf, which perfectly fit to the body and worn with a wide legged pants with pleated front detail. Topping the looks are Zac Posen bags and beige bejeweled belt, exclusively designed for Target.

Zac Posen for Target collection will be officially available to Aussie fashionistas at selected Target stores all over Australia starting 3rd April 2008. Visit Designers for Target website to find the nearest Target outlet that carries the exclusive Zac Posen line.
