A Moment of Bliss with Jimmy Choo

The masseuse was massaging my feet gently while I rested on the velvety suede sofa within the luxurious two-room Presidential Suite.

As the smartly clad Grand Millennium Hotel waiters come and go serving delicious sushi and other God-sent finger food and free-flowing drinks, in front of me was a million dollar panorama of KL skyscraper in the afternoon from the 14th floor. What’s more, there were Jimmy Choos all over the room. Not one but many. So what else a girl (or in my case, a boy) could ask for?

Sounds like too good to be true right? Well my darlings, it was true after all because star shoemaker Jimmy Choo has recently unveiled its upcoming fall/winter 2008 shoes and accessories collection to the media members.

Held in such an intimate setting, which was inside the RM 8000.00 a night Presidential Suite, the event saw guests being treated to not just the must have array of shoes but also a special foot and hand pampering session. Too bad I didn't bring my camera along.

Though we could opt either to have our pampering session first (which my feet have secretly begging and crying for) or view the collection, I chose to view the must haves first.

Oh dear, at once, I felt as if I was in Carrie Bradshaw’s apartment, or if it’s not too e
xaggerating, Imelda Marcos’s. Either on the open showcase cabinets or the console tables, much of the open spaces were literally dwelled by Jimmy Choo shoes and bags.

Featuring a lineup of fabulous shoes and to-die-for bags in many shapes and sizes, patent leather in different permutations such as petroleum (real petroleum was added to the patent leather, creating a magnificent holographic effect on the surface), the incredible liquid patent (liquid fills underneath the patent surface), and also the rare yet exotic patented eel skin predominated within this exciting fall/winter 2008 collection.

Apart from that, multi-functional element was adapted into the collection. Iconic carrywears such as the Lara bag in black patent leather as well as the fashion-forward Maxine bag in snakeskin and suede trim boast multi-function purposes. For example, the La
ra bag could be used as a hobo simply by detaching its strap and join the clasp together. As for Maxine, you can transform it into an oversized clutch by just removing its golden chain strap.

For the star bag status of the fall/winter collection by Jimmy Choo goes to the Saba line. Another iconic carrywear, the bag is not only roomy and slouchy but is accentuated by the beautiful yet classy hardware in enamel and gold.

Crafted in a variety of pelts and colours, Saba is the one that you should buy, beg, borrow or as your last resort, steal. Topping my watchlist is the limited edition large Saba made from patched Karung in anthracite hue.

Now, I know that the hardwares on the Saba strap are so irresistible that you wanted them to be on your wrists instead of on the strap.

But before you tempted to snip the strap and remove the hardware and convert them into accessories, then Jimmy Choo got news for you. The enamel and gold bangle-lik
e hardware called Flor, will be immortalized into an oversized keychain. Coming soon they will also be turned into, you guess it, bangles!

Speaking of limited edition girls, get ready to stampede into Jimmy Choo KLCC store soon for the fuzzy Rocket bag. Made from soft rabbit fur, only one will be sold at the store and whoever could get her hands on this bag means that she’s already put herself on the same line as the likes of Naomi Campbell, Kimora Lee Simmons, and more. There’s another version swathed in Swarovski but unfortunately, that one won’t be available here. Sigh!

Now moving on the shoes, the forte of Jimmy Choo business. Just like the bags, the shoes and boots are crafted mainly from patent leather and suede leathers, perfectly made to match with their distinctively stylish bags.

With Gladiator sandals are back in style, one could expect the element to prevail within the sandals line.

One sandal that will cause Jimmy Choo to reorder their stock will absolutely be the Atlas sandal in petroleum patent leather.

Sported by phenomenal actress cum global style icon of the 21st century, Sarah Jessica Parker in the upcoming movie adaptation of cult TV series Sex and the City, the sandal has already made the world’s fashion society talking.

Too bad Jimmy Choo KLCC only carry sizes five to nine. But again, I am so confidently assured that this piece of strappy lady will go off the racks once Sex and the City The Movie hit our leading cinemas at the end of July.

While boots may not fare so well here due to our extremely hot and humid climate, boot fans can also look forward to its scintillating array of booties. Planning to play dominatrix on his upcoming birthday but don’t know what kind of boots to match with that PVC bikini set?

Fret no more because Hallie boots are here to compliment your intimate style. Available in several colours (I love the ones in devil red), the boots will be available at Singapore store.

Done with my multiple viewing, alas, I decided to succumb to my tired feet’s whispering pleas and let the masseuse do what they know best – kneading my feet. So heavenly, there were no exact words for me to describe how heavenly the pampering session was but seriously, the gentle kneads were so rejuvenating.

Next to me, the amazingly beautiful and down-to-earth Monica Valiram from the Valiram Group too was having her pedicures done. To quote Monica during our conversation while having our feet pampered, "beauty is tiring."

Therefore, I would like to express my gratitude and millions of thanks to the Valiram Group, the Jimmy Choo team, as well as Rahayu, PR officer of Grand Millennium Hotel for throwing such a great media preview in the comfort of a Presidential suite as well as the wonderful feet and hands pampering session.
