Counting Down

Only a few weeks left for Dior to unveil its new look. The new flagship boutique, located in the posh Starhill Gallery will soon be the talk of the town. With a spacious floorspace that expands 3500 sqm., the new store is fashioned after the two megastores in Hong Kong and Tokyo and is schedule to open on 6th May. Meanwhile, the present store, also located within the same premise, is operating as usual. A few weeks ago, fashionistas and celebs from all over Malaysia converged to celebrate the launch of John Galliano's latest baby and 'gift' to his ardent fans - the Gaucho bag. Inspired by the South American Gauchos, the bag resembles to the ever-famous Saddle Bag. The bag features Monsieur Dior lucky medallion charm, complete with 1947 engraved on it. Available in various colors and mediums, this bag is to die for. Two more bags that you should keep your eye on are the Japanese print Saddle Bag and Diorissimo Multi-Pocket hobo.

Another store-opening in the making is Louis Vuitton. The store, which is due to be open in July, is an event that is much anticipated by its fans in Malaysia. Expect it to be a night-of-stars event with gliterattis from all over the region converged here to celebrate the opening. Will Marc and Gisele make it here? Just wait and see. The new store is built on 6000 sqft. floorspace, two-storeyed. The current flagship store is still operating and clientele base are made of locals and foreign tourists from Japan, Korea and the Middle East. This season Marc Jacobs is playing with the graphical elements and cut-outs. It's all about returning to the 80's, where bright, screaming colors rule the runways. Model Gisele Bundchen is the new face of the brand, replacing Uma Thurman.
