Hermes' Spring Fling

At the recent Paris Fashion Week, French leather goods and luxury specialist Hermes presented its Spring/Summer 2007 collection for men. While Hermes has been known throughout the world by its female clients for conceiving two world's most sought after bags, the inevitable Birkin and Kelly plus must-have pieces by renowned designer Jean-Paul Gaultier, the French fashion house now pays tribute to its male clients.

Designer Veronique Nichanian goes for a plain yet simple look for Hermes men this season rather than focusing on themes as what most European top-notch designers do. Collarless shirts, waistcoats, and wide-legged pants, worn with espadrilles and a knotted kerchief are the forthcoming servings by the Hermes men to its masculine customers.

Not only known for its design, Hermes is also known for its quality as every details are taken care of during the production. For instance, the tweedy blouson that appeared on the show opening was actually constructed of intricately woven calfskin.

Last season, Nichanian stunned the fashion world with Hermes' offering of a red croc coat tagged at US$145 000.00 which was considered as one of the most expensive mens coat ever produced thus lifting the French label's portfolio.

Hermes' Spring/Summer 2007 Mens Ready-to-Wear Collection will be available at Hermes stores early next year.
