Hail to King Galliano

Everyone in the fashion world loves John Galliano. VOGUE's Anna Wintour loves him dearly, and so does Glenda Bailey and Suzy Menkes. Even devoted fashionistas worldwide adored him and patiently waits for what's in store next season year after year.

The fashion people loved him dearly not just because of his eccentric, whismical yet quirky designs for Parisian much revered couturier Christian Dior that takes the centerstage of the annual Paris Fashion Week but his chameleonic appearances. From a gothic rock god to the astronaut, he's just someone who is out of this world.

Apart from heading the 60-year old fashion house that was founded by the late Monsieur Dior whose creation changed how the women of earth look (and soon rechristened as "The New Look" by Harper's BAZAAR Carmen Snow), Galliano also has his own label of the same name. While he was the one who is responsible for changing the course of Dior's fashion appeal which used to be a favourite among the grand dames to young, bold and sassy; the same recipe was applied on his label.

Recently, John Galliano came out with a second line to his current label, Galliano by John Galliano. Presented to the press and fashion who's whos at his Rue D"Avron HQ, the line features cool yet rock-infused styles, Galliano appeals to the hardcore fashion fans who are bold and dare enough to look great against all odds.

Sportwear worn over bikini set, tour t-shirt and bags with the image of the man himself (complete with his long blond locks) and catholic-school inspired blazer with crest are the pieces that one can look forward to.
What's more? The diffusion line is said to be 40% less than the main line, which means almost everyone can afford something from the quirky king of style or should I say the male answer to Vivienne Westwood.

In lieu of spreading the obession of everything Galliano to the citizens of the fashion world, the diffusion line will be sold at 500 outlets around the world, thanks to licensing partner IT Holdings who will be distributing the label. The company too is interested in setting up freestanding boutiques for Galliano by John Galliano.

Galliano by Galliano's first collection will be available in July next year and stores to carry the line are yet to be disclosed. So, just cross your fingers and hope it'll make to our fair shores!
