Fendi gets a Facelift

After a decade of presence in the local fashion scene, Italian fashion power house and world's sought after furrier Fendi has decided to treat its loyal clients a gift that they never forget - a major store revamp and status upgrade.

Last year, Fendi has relocated its KL boutique to a new location which is also within its current premise for the last 11 years, Starhill Gallery, and given it a flagship title, making it on par with its sister stores in Hong Kong, Singapore, Bangkok and Tokyo.

Peter Marino, a New York architect was given the responsibility to model the new store which features Palazzo-themed designs akin to its headquarter store in Rome, Italy. With its flagship status, one does not have to jetset halfway to the grandiose multi-storeyed Fendi Palazzo in Italy or in Hong Kong where the brand's first Asian flagship store first opened because the store carries a complete selection of Fendi goods ranging from sunglasses to shoes.

Marino is also responsible behind the marvelous architectural feats and designs of several major haute couture and 'only-for-the-rich' label stores such as Armani and Dior.

His vast retail architecture portfolio that spans years of experiences includes the must visit Louis Vuitton's flagship stores in Champs-Elysees in Paris which opened in Fall 2005 and the iconic New York store on the Fifth Avenue, Chanel's stunning flagship store at Tokyo's gilttering and luxurious district of Ginza, as well as its Parisian Rue Cambon store, where Coco Chanel first set up its store.

Expanded three times from the original size, the boutique proves to be more spacious and allows customers to walk and enjoy themselves while doing their seasonal stocking up on Fendi goods ranging from the ready-to-wear collection up to its must-have bags. Talking about Fendi bags, the Italian furrier and leather goods expert has came out with a new child, called B.Mix. The bag has been in stores now and a favorite among its loyal customers.
