Bring Out the Rocking Energie

Italian fashion-forward label for men Energie returns with an edgier and rocking look this season. At the runway show held last September, rock music from The Midnight blared loudly on stage while models were strutting their stuff, reminding me of the swinging rock eras that our parents used to lived in, with endless parties and concerts by heavyweight bands.

Graphic tees with rocking messages emblazoned on the front, all-white ensemble of vest and pants, plaid shirts and shorts, gingham pants in bright white-red combination worn with op-print shirt in black-and-white, skinny tie and washed out blue denim cropped trousers with two large flapped pockets on front were all given a rock royalty treatment.

Unlike its sister brand Miss Sixty that plays with past trends of the glamorous 80's, which is the in trend for womenswear in the fashion scene, Energie's recent collection is much influenced by the rocking mid-70's where rock bands like The Midnight, The Rolling Stones or The Ramones ruled. Salopette or dungaree are worn with straps hanging below waist, a la 98-Degrees at the rise of their fame (remember how hunky Nick Lachey and Jeff Timmons used to look like?), can look sexy if worn with a matching wife-beater or sleeveless tees.

Fancy for a male cradigan? Try the cardigan-inspired Royl shirt for a change of style. After all, cardies aren't just made for girls and grandmas. If you are a sucker for denim then Energie is the brand that you should look for. The denims are not only comfortable but it's also stylish and edgier compared to most denim brands. For accessories, apart from the skinny tie that makes a good comeback in the fashion world , key rings, belts with metallic stud details or tree-bark effects the perfect accessories to complement your rock look.

Energie's Spring/Summer 2007 Collection is available now at all Energie and Energie/Miss Sixty stores around the globe.
