Donna Karan's New Icon Collection

New York based fashion designer and the icon to American fashion scene, Donna Karan launched her new Icon collection based on her "Seven Easy Pieces" concept as a part of her new Conduit Street store opening celebration. Before, Donna Karan's London store was located at the exclusive yet upscale Bond Street.

According to Donna Karan's spokesman, the new London store echoes the Salon-like atmosphere of its Madison Avenue flagship store in the Big Apple. The Conduit Street store, which is a four-story townhouse showcases her collection in a sleek and modern environment, while at the same time, retaining the soul and history of the landmark building.

The new store also embraces Donna Karan's love of harmonising opposite design elements, which is the mix of old and new, open and intimate.

Back to the "Easy Seven Pieces", the new iconic collection that she conceived are based on her "Seven Easy Pieces" concept which comprise of pieces that makes its wearer feel confident, and can be worn from day to night. A total even handpicked pieces by the designer herself from the entire collection were revealed to fashion magazine and portal Vogue.com in an interview a few days ago.

There's a cashmere sequined piece with deep v-neck, below the knee hemline, and long sleeves with sequin details; slim trousers and soft leather jacket, drape front skirt and off-shoulder dress with straps on the neckline in stretching fabrics, just to name a few. All of these pieces from the Icon collection are done in one single color - black.

Though there is no news whether the Icon collection will be available to all Donna Karan stores around the world but probably, the collection will only be exclusively available to the new Conduit Street store in London.
