Manolo Blahnik to Open at Villa Moda Kuwait

A few years back, the well-heeled Middle Easterners were so enamored by Jimmy Choo shoes that have been a staple for the Oscar, Golden Globe and Grammy attendees, inspiring the company, headed by Tamara Mellon, to set up its first Middle East store at Kuwait's luxurious fashion emporium Villa Moda.

This year, following Choo footstep is no other than the fellow shoe designer to the stars and yes, to who else but Carrie Bradshaw, the ultimate Manolo addict character played by Sarah Jessica Parker in Sex and the City.

Manolo Blahnik proudly announces that his company will be opening its first Middle Eastern concession at the renowned Villa Moda by next month and according to the man himself, the Kuwait store is all about opulence.

"The Middle East store is about opulence! So fabulous," he said to Vogue.com in an enthusiastic manner.

Indeed, Villa Moda has been known throughout the world as one of the most refined and luxurious fashion emporium ever existed and is the must-visit and must-shop place while visiting the oil-rich state.

Apart from housing his rival shoemaker store, Villa Moda too houses brands ranging from the ultra-luxe names of Gucci, Yves Saint Laurent, Prada and Dolce & Gabbana to urban and hip Sweetface by actress/singer Jennifer Lopez.

"The area exudes such quality and refinement," he added. "This is what the shoes I have designed for Villa Moda are about. They are rich and exciting. I've seen photographs of the shop - which is based on a room at the Golestan Palace in Iran and I'm so excited about it. I can't wait to get out there and see it in the flesh!"

After Kuwait, following suit is an emporium in Bahrain and more exotic locations around the globe all will be set up by next year. Is South East Asia included in his exotic location list? We'll have to wait and see then.
