Another Biz Deal for Jessica Simpson

US singer/actress Jessica Simpson will have more than just albums under her belts. Since last year, it seems that her fashion foray has proven to be fruitful, starting with the launch of her self-branded shoes collection, which was the fruit of collaboration between the singer and shoe designer Steve Madden.

Last week, the singer debuted her premier swimwear collection to the fashionable crowd of Miami at the city's Fashion Week and the response was tremendous. But before the swimwear hype made headlines on WWD (Womens' Wear Daily mind you!) or fashion magazines around the globe, she recently secured a goldmine deal with Parlux Fragrance Inc. to create a signature.

The fragrance, according to Parlux press release, reflects the personality and lifestyle of the singer herself. The former Mrs. Nick Lachey was represented in business by Camuto Group, the master licensee of her brand Jessica Simpson.

Scheduled to debut in July 2008, the fragrance mirrors the facets of Jessica Simpson in all aspects, not only as a singer and actress, but also as a successful business woman and an icon or role model to other women of her age or younger.

The fragrance is also a part of her product expansion and her second attempt in foraying into the beauty and scent market following the launch of her edible beauty products four years ago.

"I wanted to partner with a company that would be able to express my personality through a fragrance," said Jessica in a press statement released by Parlux Fragrance. "After meeting with Parlux, I'm extremely excited to start the development process with them."

"We are proud to partner with both the Camuto Group and Jessica Simpson, whose talent, charm, and values have made her America's Sweetheart and have shown her to be the kind of person that women of all ages can admire," says CEO and Chairman of Parlux Fragrances, Inc., Neil Katz. "Having Jessica as a partner is a great global opportunity for our company."

At the meantime, Camuto Group head honcho, Vince Camuto believes that the fragrance is a natural product expansion for the Jessica Simpson lifestyle brand and they are pleased to have Parlux as one of their business partners.

Apart from Jessica Simpson, Parlux Fragrance is the license holder to Paris Hilton range of products . It also manufactures, markets and distributes fragrance and beauty-related products from other prestigious brands such as Perry Ellis, Guess?, XOXO and Maria Sharapova internationally. The international roll-out for Jessica Simpson fragrance line will followed shortly after its debut in the United States.
