Tracy Reese S/S 08 ... Amaze Me

For cult brand followers, Tracy Reese needs no introduction. The renowned New York based fashion designer is famous for her designs that takes femininity to a new height.

Recently, Reese staged her latest Spring/Summer 2008 ready-to-wear and accessories at the New York Fashion Week held at its usual venue, the Bryant Park. Attended by all the biggest names in the industry, celebrities and buyers from around the world, the show saw a total of 45 clothing and accessories pieces paraded on the stage.

This year marks the 10th year of Reese's involvement in the fashion industry and in celebrating this occasion, she is taking her audience back to the more civilized era with a collection that inspired by a trip to the Northern Africa with Tangiers and Tunisia as its main focus.

The show kicked off with an array of black and white spectator-inspired travel clothes of slim pinstriped skirtsuits, fitted jacket over the lean sailor pants, and dresses with graphic stripes and ribbons in grosgrains and tulle. There's also relaxed pajama jacket embellished with sequin, looking elegant and easy. Later, the show continues with the colorful parade of frocks, swimsuits and ensembles any devoted cult fashion follower should have.

Making the fashion statement of the season is the return of black big hat, a reminiscence to the heydays of Joan Collin's alter ego Alexis Carrington in the prime time soap Dynasty. Not to forget the return of sequin embellishment, an obvious feature on some of Reese's must wear pieces.

Working ladies, substitute your power suits with Alexis Carrington-esque dresses and ensembles with cinched waists and smockings but if you are planning to be away for a long time, particularly relaxing by the vast blue sea, a printed sheer chiffon caftan in black and white with belt might work over your sexy cutout swimwear or bikinis. Optional - the embroidered umbrellas to match your scintilating swimming costumes.

Other must wears from Tracy Reese's Spring/Summer 2008 which I strongly recommended for you stylish ladies who lunches are textured bolero worn over any plain or printed top, sheer pinstripe dress in black and white with tulle layering underneath the hemline, and lots and lots of prints. Don't forget to include the big hats that I've mentioned earlier.

Tracy Reese's Spring/Summer 2008 collection will be available early next year at KL's cult brand haven Maison Maizen.
