Specially From Givenchy

From its hey days founded by its founder late Hubert de Givenchy till today, the House of Givenchy has thrived from day to day. Since last year, Givenchy came out with the Black Box collection. A brainchild of artistic director Ricardo Tiscci, the Black Box is actually an artistic representation of discreetly enigmatic sparkling evening bags, nestled in a black lacquered wooden case.

The clutch is embroidered with rose gold snake chains, each delicately hand-woven, studded on the sides with silver snakeskin flecked with gold, and lined with ivory satin. The bag evokes the sensual yet structured lines of Givenchy couture and ready-to-wear collections. The round-edged clasp and sinuous motif created by the snake chains have a decidedly 1930’s inspiration.

This exquisitely refined evening bag becomes a gesture of elegance in itself. A mix of sober class and rich expressiveness without ostentation, it is another example of how Givenchy’s chic heritage melds perfectly with Riccardo Tisci's contemporary vision of femininity. A limited and numbered edition of only 200 purses will be made. The Black Box 2006 purse will be available at the end of October exclusively in Givenchy stores.
