Seen on Carrie Bradshaw ... Jee Vice shades

4 fashionistas wrote ...
Hear ye, hear ye Sex and the City fans … our beloved city girls (Carrie, Samantha, Miranda and Charlotte) are back at the locations, filming the movie’s second sequel.

And despite autumn is heading to New York and the rest of Northern Hemisphere very soon, the girls have been spotted in their nonchalant summer pieces while shooting scenes.

As usual, all eyes are on the styles and there is lots of good stuff waiting to be paraded or sashayed by the girls in the new movie. And spotted in one of the scenes, where Sarah Jessica Parker as her on-screen alter ego Carrie Bradshaw sported bohemian chic tiered mini dress in purplish blue or cornflower blue with, well here’s the best part, a Jee Vice shades!

Okay, I know everyone is going ‘huh’ right now, since not every one knows what Jee Vice is. So, here’s something that I get from their website. Jee Vice is a sunglasses brand from France and has been decorating stylish women eyes since 2003. Hand designed in France and handmade in Italy, Jee Vice designs are inspired by influential designs of the 50’s and up to the 70’s.

“I want to give with Jee Vice a new way for women to feel their power through their look,” says founder and designer Philippe Vergez. “I wish to inspire the desire to love and live their passions, to fully commit themselves and elevate the perception of the contemporary woman.”

To date, lots of celebrities have pledged their allegiance to Jee Vice and they include singers Duffy, Christina Milian, the Pussycat Dolls; actors Anne Hathaway, Rosanna Arquette, Lindsay Lohan and Katherine Heigl, as well as world-renowned socialite/model/entrepreneur/whatever Paris Hilton. Even her pop majesty Madonna was spotted wearing one of Jee Vice creations called the Black Dyslexic in a few tabloids and magazines.

However, no matter how many exciting different styles they have in stores for you to covet, I am fully assured that many Sex and the City die-hard style emulators are going to stampede into optical stores and get Heated in orange, as seen on and worn by, who else if not the leading lady and Queen Bee of Sex and the City the Movie 2, Sarah Jessica Parker!

Made as part of the Revolutionary Correct collection, which is the premier line, Heated is really sexy and mirrors the pure style of today’s contemporary woman. What’s more, it is also a unisex shades and a perfect compliment to your laidback eternally summer style.

But if Heated is not your cup of style, then go for the oversized and vintage-inspired Red Hot (as shown above). Alluring and luxurious, the shades, which is available in multitude of hues aside of red, reminds me of classic beauty such as the legendary burlesque star Dita von Teese.

So, where to get them? Currently, I have no idea which optical store or optometry that carries this brand locally. But if you are planning to fly to Hong Kong for some retail therapy, you can get a pair or two of Jee Vice’s marvellous shades at O-O Shop and Puyi Optical chain all over the city, or buy them online at Jee Vice’s online store or decormyeyes.com. Heated retails at US$170.00, while Red Hot at US$250.00 each.

Covet This ... Mason Bag by The Gentlemen's League

1 fashionistas wrote ...
The fashion world could not help it but to go gaga over tattooed bags. However, some guys do believe that carrying the same bag with similar tattoo prints while strolling around town seems so un-cool.

Why? The reason is simple - tattoos are usually high in sentimental value and no one wants to be seen sporting similar tattoo designs in the public (unless if it indicates your tribe, clan or something). Therefore, why don’t you rich boys chip out some of your retail therapy fund and invest (yes, that’s the word) in The Gentlemen’s League Mason bag

What’s cool about this bag?

For the uninitiated, this is the bag of the bags and it is
not mass produced. Instead, the Mason bag is hand-painted by Adam Razak, the master artist of The Gentleman’s League.

Huh, The Gentlemen’s League? Is that a secret society?

That’s a good try but a wrong guess. The Gentlemen’s League is neither a secret all-male society nor a fashion label. It is a group of artists residing in the Big Apple and they are all passionate in beauty, art and creativity. In addition, the group also frowns upon today’s idea of labelling and selling mass-produced and generic aesthetics as luxury.

How do I know that Mason will put me in the style spotlight?

As I’ve mentioned earlier, the Mason bag is not mass-produced. So, expect to just a few copies of this. Furthermore, the bag is also signed, titled and embossed with commission number. Meaning, no two bags will look alike.

What’s the damage to own this aesthetic piece?

That would be $2500.00 a pop. Convert into Malaysian Ringgit, that sum is equivalent to RM 9068.75 – a drop in the bucket for someone who truly appreciates personal style and cutting edge fashion statement.

Where can I buy it?

Make your way to Début in New York, the sophisticated spot for sophisticated style du jour.

Meet Parker from Coach

0 fashionistas wrote ...
A friend just caught her boyfriend red handed – he mouth-kissed her best friend inside the latter’s bedroom, on her own bed at her party!

As usual, “blame it on the alcohol” was his reason; an obvious reason any man would come out with when they w
ere caught cheating while being intoxicated. So, she turned to me and somehow, I immediately became a five-minute Oprah, consoling her who was cursing and sobbing incessantly.

Honestly, I’ve rarely been into this sort of situation, you know, catching your man cheating with another woman or vice versa (reminds me of that Sex and the City episode where Samantha caught Richard on bed with another woman).

However, like an epiphany, something crossed my mind and I believe he would suit her taste perfectly as he embodies all the qualities that she possess –whimsical, free-spirited and always on the hunt for something fresh and vitally vibrant. And his name is Parker – a new creation from Coach.

Reliable and trustworthy (sorry guys but that is true), Parker’s fresh silhouette and feminine colours could easily brighten up your rainy early spring morning to a sunny summer’s day. Crafted out from supple leather and other luxurious materials, Parker does not exist in just one shape.

In fact, there are tens of incarnations that you could look forward to, such as a contemporary leather satchel in pale yellow and brass hardware finishing, fabric-lined and boasts multiple pockets for almost everything – your PDA, pens and much more. What’s more, the soft pleats and twisted straps adorning the collection lend character and dimension, as well as undying glamour.

Apart from the satchel, Parker also comes in an array of totes as well as clutches with fabulous designs and marvellous colours that are worth every ringgit you spent. There’s one in nylon with a Pop Art-inspired photo print of a laughing girl, as well as in colourful butterfly print with dog leash closure and lots of pockets for storing little things.

If you fancy having a tattoo but afraid of the pain and the needle, then Coach has an alternative for you – Parker photo leather tattoo print tote and clutch. Both clutch and tote comes with Coach Tattoo prints, leather threaded chain link handles and leather trimmed.

The Parker collection by Reed Krakoff for Coach is available now at all Coach Stores worldwide.

A Sprouse-ing Spring .... Stephen Sprouse for Louis Vuitton 2009 Tribute Collection

1 fashionistas wrote ...
My love-hate relationship with Louis Vuitton’s Stephen Sprouse graffiti collection may sound like this: colour wise, it’s too eccentric and too flashy for me or anyone who prefers settling down with subtle yet subliminal colours. But style wise, anything spruced up by the late Stephen Sprouse aren’t just coveted for style. It’s a piece of art, baby!

Recently, to the delight of young and audacious Louis Vuitton fans around the world, the highly-revered French fashion house has just resurrected the collection back to life after being a
rchived for about nine years (last seen in 2001, prior to Sprouse’s death in 2004). Unlike the initial collection which was rather monochromatic, Louis Vuitton’s Creative Director Marc Jacobs gave the collection another lease of colourful life in splashes of Day-Glo colours, matching Sprouse’s design trademark.

"I tried to use the things in Stephen's vocabulary, and give the collection the shape, silhouette and styling that Stephen would have done when he was at the top of his game,” says Jacobs of the collection.

“It really is a complete homage, and a complete combination of what is Louis Vuitton, and what is this legendary icon, and then what are the icons and the lasting aesthetics that Stephen left in the fashion world, he further added"

Iconic bags such as the Alma, Pocehette, Speedy, and Neverfull were transformed into another range of otherworldly iconic pieces that worth displaying inside Tate Modern Arts Museum or The Met in New York.

And for the first time, Jacobs also created a collection in Sprouse’s honour using one of his renowned aesthetics - a rose. Legend has it that Sprouse always send images of rose to his friends as his way of saying Thank You.

That was after he started using coloured version of Xerox copier in the 70’s, where he would use the machine to enlarge photos many times until the images were distorted and gradually turn abstract. Apart from leather goods, high cut strappy boots and high-heeled shoes collection scrawled with Day-Glo graffiti of handwritten Louis Vuitton logo all over, Jacobs also added a few ready-to-wear capsule pieces to accompany the collection.

"I did my best, in a very first degree way, to do what I think Stephen would have done, or has done, in terms of fashion," says Marc Jacobs of the capsule ready-to-wear line he created in homage to Stephen Sprouse.

Harking to back to the days when Milli Vanilli and 21 Jump Street style ruled over the TV screens voraciously, or another close reminder – Kylie Minogue’s “In My Arms” video, the capsule collection, among others, consists of printed bikinis, scarves, plus a couple of tops and bottoms.

Made perfect for the incoming summer months, you definitely can’t go wrong in them while sunbathing at one of the private cabanas along Monte Carlo beach.

If dainty Speedy scrawled in lime-green or scrawled swimming trunk in electric pink are out of your reach, then there’s always small goodies for you to take home such as the edgy Sprouse enamelled yellow gold bracelet or the legendary monogrammed scarf with Sprouse rose print.

Don't Jump Aboard Without ... Potion and Poppy from Jimmy Choo Cruise 2009

2 fashionistas wrote ...
Ahoy holidaymakers, ‘tis the time for you to leave that dreadful grey skies and snow-bound grounds of your home for the pleasant sunshine. As the fuel price is dropping drastically around the globe, more are turning to the novel ‘green’ Christmas rather than sticking to traditional white.

Think of Christmas by the Caribbean or South Pacific with coconut trees rather than traditional bedecked Christmas tree, plus one or two piña colladas or perhaps some exotic blend cocktail in your hands. Don’t forget about lying and swinging lazily on the rustic brown hammock too!

But before you embark on a
nother trip of the lifetime to the other end of the world (cruise trips are always fancy and far beyond imaginable sometimes), put away those hideous sandals and pack these dainty heels from Jimmy Choo’s latest Cruise 2009 collection instead – the Poppy and Potion sandals.

Why I must stash them into my suitcase?

These god-sent sandals are special because they are drenched in bright candy-like neon hues, which will spice up just anyone’s wardrobe or mood. Even the heels itself, known as the Mondrian, are made of coloured resin or Perspex rather than being traditionally conceived from wood.

What are they made of? Aren’t the heels safe?

Good question. The Potion sandals are made of patent leather while the Poppy sandals are made of both suede and patent leather. As for the clear Mondrian heels, they are totally safe to wear.

Where can I wear them?

You can wear them just anywhere, either at daytime or in the evening. If you wish to relive the disco days, then put either one and start hitting the club. These sandals will guarantee you the most attention from the party animals as soon as you made your royal entrée into the club.

What is the best style arsenal should I pair it with?

Embrace the psychedelic beauty of neon hues with another dazzling creation by Jimmy Choo for the Cruise season – the Dylan bags. Translucent and drenched in candy hues, they are the right arm and eye candy for you to take to the beach.

Though some may say the approximate price tag of RM 2501.30 may be ridiculous for a plastic beach bag, for avid fashionistas, it’s just another must have from the shoemaker of the stars!

How much does it cost to walk on the clear heels?

The sassy Poppy sandals cost around RM 3300.00 a pair while multicoloured Potion price is upon request.

Where can I get them?

At all Jimmy Choo boutiques, Jimmy Choo Online store at jimmychoo.com, net-a-porter.com, as well as selected departmental stores and multi-brand footwear retailers worldwide.

Have a Kinky Little Christmas ... Frame Bra by Kiki de Montparnasse

0 fashionistas wrote ...
When it comes to sexual fantasy, some men prefer their leading ladies to be in their own skin or also known as naked. But there are also men who prefer seeing their women in lingerie, provocative and alluringly sexy lingerie.

But here’s a problem – what if the man prefers his woman to be in lingerie but also a tad naked at the same time? Well, intimate fashion and lifestyle purveyor from the Stateside, Kiki de Montparnasse knows how to handle it very well. Boys, say hi to the innovative yet stimulating Frame bra from its bold Cage collection.

Why Cage?

The Cage collection is des
igned to mimic the appearance of cages, with lots of cut-outs on strategic position. The tactical positioning and feminine shape also give the Cage collection a distinctive look and feel.

What is the bra’s drool factor?
The drool factor lies on the design of the bra itself. First of all, the bra is away from the conventional bra design. Furthermore, it has no fabric insert to support and cover the breasts, making it truly erotic and unique at the same time.

Are the nipple covers optional?

Yes, definitely. This practical piece of lingerie allows you to style it based on your own preference. Therefore, the choices (nipple show or no show) are always yours!

Does it come with a matching bottom?

It is but sold separately. The panty (US$125.00) too has all-over ruching trim with French lace front and stretch fit. There’s also a separately sold garter (US$175.00) too if you want a complete ensemble.

Panty would be too much coverage for me and I prefer to see more skin.

Then go for Cage panty (US$295.00). This panty has lots of cut-outs with barely there coverage on the front and side.

Okay, so I have the bra, the panty and the garter. Still, my intimate moment is lack of fun. Is there any add-on?

Well, yes. Besides lingerie and lounge or sleepwear, Kiki de Montparnasse also has a selection of pleasure instruments to spice up your intimate moments. If your man loves being restrained and at the same time, has the predilection of being spanked and dominated, this Restraining Art Kit would make the perfect sex gift for both of you. It comes with wrist and ankle cuffs, straps and paddle, all in supple leather for spanking.

How much does a “sex to remember” will cost me?

The frame bra retails at US$195.00 while the Restraining Art Kit will set you back at US$995.00 a set.

Where can I get them?

Madonna Shines in Louis Vuitton at Gucci Party ... Gasp!

3 fashionistas wrote ...
2008 must’ve been one hell of a year for a diva named Madonna. First was the release of her final studio album for Warner Music called Hard Candy (a greatest hits album to be released by the end of this year), next is her successful Sticky and Sweet world tour that grossed more than US$100 million, and concluding it all is the rotten cherry on top – a quickie divorce from her British film director husband Guy Ritchie.

And more recently, Madame Madge showed up at Gucci/UNICEF gala to celebrate the launch its Gucci Tattoo Heart holiday collection in New York. While the star of the event happened to be rising R&B star Rihanna, who is also the spokesperson and the face of the collection’s ad campaign, it seems Madonna too made everybody’s eyebrows raised to greater extent.

Believe it or n
ot, her Madge-sty made her grand entrée into the event at Gucci’s World Flagship store (5th Avenue) wearing not Gucci but guess what, Louis Vuitton! I know it may sound ridiculous or suicidal but honey, I’ve seen it all and Madonna is not the first to commit such fashion ‘crime’. In KL, socialites too commit the same crime. Some did turn up at Salvatore Ferragamo event clutching a Prada clutch or wear a Paul Smith dress while seating next to the brand’s regional MD on front row. Gasp! But since the venue was jam-packed, who would give a damn anyway?

Now back to Madonna. Sporting Lauren Bacall-esque hairstyle (remember her Bazaar cover where she dressed as a nurse?), she looked stunning in a belted green fringed shift dress and a matching strappy stiletto sandals freshly culled from Louis Vuitton’s spring/summer 2009 collection. Yes my dear fashionistas, fresh from the recent Paris Fashion Week runway.

The belted shift dress sports a above-thigh fringed hem in contrasting hue of black and spiced up with stacks of chunky African tribal bangles in amber and resin with one being smartly bejewelled, plus a sexy pair of classic fishnet stockings. Don't forget the gilded leather obi-styled belt too, which is slated to become the next season's 'in' accessory.

And for those who are yet to know, Marc Jacobs has successfully roped the diva as the upcoming face of Louis Vuitton’s spring/summer 2009 advertising campaign. Shot by photographers Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott in Los Angeles, the campaign is set to draw Madonna fans stampeding into Louis Vuitton stores around the world, despite of the gloomy economic situation that has literally affected the Stateside and Japan quite recently. So, is there any chance Madge will appear in one of the ad campaigns wearing that green fringed piece? Just wait and see.

However, before I conclude the news, I have good news for filthy rich fashionistas who are truly devoted to Louis Vuitton trunks. Now, you don’t have to put your bottle of dainty Beluga caviar into the loaded picnic basket because Louis Vuitton has created a stylish solution for you – the Caviar trunk.

Created solely for caviar-keeping purpose, the trunk is only available via special order complete with bowl, glasses, plates and even spoons! The trunk interior is lined with plush red-hued leather while the classic monogram richly swathed its exterior surface. The Caviar Trunk is also available in Taiga leather as well.

If you fancy getting one for your picnic convenience or just as a bait to lure Madonna or Posh Spice to join your picnic in the park, inquire with your nearest Louis Vuitton stores today.

Slithering and Lustruous ... Keno Mary Janes Pumps by Nine West

2 fashionistas wrote ...
‘Tis the season for, you guess it, exotic skin. Though the trend has been prevalent since few years back, it seems like the whole world can’t part with accoutrement or even clothing in reptile skin!

Albeit the real thing may cost you more than just limbs, that won’t make a good exc
use because Nine West knows how to satisfy your hunger pangs for everything slithering and exotic. Here it is … Keno pumps.

Is it made from real skin skinned from the slithering ones?

According to the site, the shoes are actually made using snakeskin print material. But thanks to its pristine and well-polished appearance, even the die-hard reptile skin goods collector will pass that as genuine!

Do reptile skin goods stay ‘a la mode’ forever?

Honey, if it is reptile, it’s ALWAYS a la mode. Since time could tell, humans have been fascinated by the design and structure of reptile skins like snakes, alligators, lizards, and also crocodiles. So if you’re a seldom buyer type (those who buy shoes like once in the entire year), then buying pieces in reptile skin should be a worthy fashion investment.

I love the brilliant colours. They look Japanese to me.

Yes, you are absolutely right. Even the name itself (Keno) is Japanese as well. If we look closer, you can see that the snakeskin pattern and the iridescent colours are similar to traditional Japanese lacquer motif.

Okay, say if I pick this shoe, then tell me with what should I pair it?

A snakeskin bag of sorts! But if you prefer to match your shoes with something that looks exactly or slightly similar, then I suggest you sister bag Too Hot to Cross Top Zip Clutch. A statement-making piece, it has interior nylon lining, pockets and a detachable strap.

How much do I need to fork out for the fabulous shoe?

The Keno Mary Janes retails at US$89.00 or equivalent to RM 310.40 a pair, while the chic Too Hot to Cross Top Zip Clutch retails at US$49.00 (RM 170.90).

Where can I get them?

They are available now at all Nine West stores across the globe as well as on Nine West online store.

Anya Hindmarch for Target

4 fashionistas wrote ...
Looks like there will be a fleet of stretch limo and flashy cars (most probably Bentleys') lining at the main entrance of Target (Tar-ghey according to the discerning fashionistas) stores all across America coming next month.

Why? Believe it or not, UK's celebrated bag designer Anya Hindmarch, yes the lady who gave us that contagiously hip "I'm Not a Plastic Bag" and "Be A Bag", will be launching a line of limited edition handbags designed exclusively for the Minnesota-based mass retailer.

The collaboration, which is the first for both parties, will see Hindmarch creating a series of handbags that incorporates her classic design aesthetics with unbelievable (or better, reasonable) price.

Hindmarch, whose highly coveted bags are often seen in the arms of top-notch celebrities and devout fashion devotees around the globe, was chosen by Target because she has the ability to "create luxurious collection while staying true to her keen sense of craftsmanship," says Target's Senior Vice President Trish Adams. "Her collection offers a chic yet sophisticated assortment that any woman will use for years to come, and all at an exceptional price."

Sophisticated and elegant, the one-off collection consists of satchels, clutches, and shoulder bags immersed in Hindmarch's classic working palette -chocolate, gold and black - and classy patent finish. To bring forth the sense of glamour, the chic silhouettes are further enhanced with the touch of French binding that is rich in texture and drenched in contrasting hues.

But the best part is yet to come. Instead of forking out some RM 3500.00 on a bag or perhaps up to RM 42 000.00 for a large Bespoke Ebury bag in matte crocodile, the Anya Hindmarch for Target collection will only cost you less than the figures mentioned above.

Translated, that should be around $19.99 to $49.99 (approximately RM 68.19 to RM 170.52) only! The perfect price point for a valuable style investment.

Anya Hindmarch for Target Limited Edition handbag collection will be making its debut at Target stores across United States and also on Target.com starting 12th October till 26th December 2008.

Jelly-licious ... Jelly Gladiator Sandals by Givenchy

3 fashionistas wrote ...
When Jelly Birkins were introduced to the fashion sphere, everyone went gaga and rushed into stores to get one. Word has it that Jennifer Lopez bought them in every single colour they could offer.

Now, the jellies are back and it’s not in the shape of bags but gladiator sandals. Thanks to the fashion geniuses at Givenchy footwear, even the season’s de rigueur that is the gladiators get a jelly treatment!

Extremely cool and fashion-forward, the patent gladiator sandals have flat bases with thin heels. There’s an adjustable strap on the ankles with gold-plated hardware buckle. Judging from the design, one can easily tell that these gorgeous sandals aren’t made solely for the fairer sex. In fact, these Italian made jelly sandals are offered in four sizes – 8,9,10 and 11. That’s big enough to fit a man’s feet.

But here’s the best part. How much do you think these Givenchy gladiators will set you back? Is it one grand or five hundred dollars? Well, both answers are wrong. Believe it or not, these jelly gladiators by Givenchy only cost you $165.00 or a mere RM539.00 and available in three colours - black, white, and pink .

Hard Candy On A Sunny Day ... Dolce & Gabbana Shades

0 fashionistas wrote ...
Italian fashion maestros Stefano Gabbana and Domenico Dolce must have been madly and deeply in love with Madonna’s Hard Candy album.

Probably being played every night and day either in their atelier or at home, the song “Candy Shop” and its sassy lyrics could have been stuck inside their heads, hence resulting this one funky retro-inspired sunglass of the season.

So cool that it can easily give your overrated wayfarers a run off their money, this super chic 70’s-inspired sunglass features inviting candy colour stripes on the surface of its acetate frames. Note that the rippling pattern is similar to the Starlite Mint candies that came along with Madonna’s Hard Candy in limited edition boxed set, except this one is multi-hued and not two-toned.

On both sides of the white temples are embossed designer logos while the lenses are tinted in gradual tones or fashionably known as ombré.

Though summer should have been over by end of next month, bear in mind that this sunglass will never go out of trend and you can still wear it wherever and whenever you want. Pair it with a printed jumpsuit and you’re off to party!

This incredible and fashion gravity-defying sunglass by Dolce & Gabbana is available at major optical stores around the world. You can also buy it at net-a-porter.com at only ₤209.95 (RM 1349.30) a pop.

Covet This ... Zay Metallic Platforms by Fendi

Gladiator sandals and strappy heels are back from their deep sleep. From Paris to KL, everyone is vying for one and either its by Balenciaga or maybe from any high street stores, no one does not to be seen without sporting them on their feet.

But if you seemed tired of the super strappy gladiator sandals, why don’t just put them back to sleep and try on new things like this one, fresh from Fendi runways.

Known as Zay metallic sandals, I bet many of us have seen it gracing the feet of top supermodels at last year’s Fendi spring/summer 2008 runway presentation staged at t
he historic Great Wall of China.

Why Zay?
I don’t know why they call it Zay but if you’re looking for something extraordinary for your feet, then Zay will be yay!

Any secret seduction weapons on Zay that’ll make all eyes stare on my feet?
Look closely at the heels. The wooden heels are covered with chain metal cages, resembling miniature modern metal sculptures. In other words, you are wearing an art on your feet!

I’m not a big fan of metallic; do they come in other hues as well?
Certainly. Besides metallic, Zay shoes are also available in black and light earthy tones of brown.

Could you suggest what should I pair my Zay with?
As you know, fashion is always subjective and of course, your dainty Zay can be paired with whatever you want to wear. For best effect, do pair them with Fendi tulle prom dress, as recommended by Net-a-Porter.com

How many banks do I have to rob for a pair or two?
Not much. The artistic Zay is priced at approximate RM 2230.20.

Where can I buy them?
At all Fendi boutiques worldwide, as well as select online retailers such as Net-a-Porter.com and eluxury.com.

The Froggy Baggin'

0 fashionistas wrote ...
It has been almost a week without rain. For seven nights straight, I heard not a single frog croaking in my lawns.

Moreover, none were seen 'meditating' on those green water lilies leaves buoying on the surface of my fishpond. Hmm, there's something fishy going on, I thought.

With a deep curiosity lingering in my head, I began solving this mystery and find out the whereabouts of our frogs. A week later, I finally found them. To my amazement, my dearly beloved frogs have been cursed into stone-cold gilded frogs complete with gemstones for their eyes.

Instead of squatting on the glossy surface of our water lily leaves, the frogs were seen calmly meditating on the top of leather pochettes. Now guess who did it and where
did we found them? Well, it was the fashion wizard Marc Jacobs who did it and where else could I found them other than the Marc Jacobs boutique!

Created by the newly-buffed fashion whiz Marc Jacobs as a part of his spring/summer 2008 accessories lineup for the main line, the pochette, or famously known by its scientific name - rana evening pochette (science-wise, rana is a scientific name for common frogs if you don't know), has made the fashion world talking and Marc Jacobs' fans craving.

Made out of plush yet exotic kangaroo leather, the pochette's lethal attraction is no other than the gilded frog, which perched on the bag in total silence with a pair of gleaming gemstone eyes. Adding a touch of femininity and luxury are the pleats that present on the bag, as well as the unique and soft-knotted handles.

So charming and enticing the evening pochette is, it even made the legendary Mrs. David Beckham and Marc Jacobs' current spokesperson Victoria want to kissed it and embraced it with all her love in this world, just as seen in the ad campaign that was shot by renowned photographer Juergen Teller.

Although the scientific name itself may suggests that the bag should be best used in the evening, honey, who would give a damn about it? If you dare to make bold fashion statement this season, then go on, tote the bag and make your style the ultimate talk of the town. In other words, besides beating off Paris Hilton from her trendsetter throne, you even got yourself a pet frog to adore. Trés chic!

Now ladies, start showing some love to the croaking ones with Rana evening pochette from Marc Jacobs. Available in four shades - black, acid tangerine, fluorescent pink, and acid yellow, the rana evening pochette retails at US$795.00 and is available now at eluxury.com, all Marc Jacobs boutiques, selected fine departmental stores, and multi-brand boutiques globally.

You have seen them on the lovely wrists of Hollywood trendsetters. Even Cameron Diaz was snapped by the paps sporting one on in gold while kissing the new man of her life.

So you still didn't get it, do you? Well ladies and girls, brace yourself for the new fad in town - the Vita bangles.

A stylish brainchild of Los Angeles-based jewelry designer Cynthia Sakai, Vita bangles have made not just the Hollywood style arbiters but also stylish girls around the world gaga. Charmingly contemporary and full of elegance, these Vita bangles are luxuries that one can always afford.

Why do I say it as a luxury? First, these exceptional bangles aren't just your typical designer bangles or bracelets. Instead, they are designer items created with full passion and interest.

Second, these intricate pieces of art are fully made in Florence, Italy - the center of Ita
lian leather craft. Don't be surprised if I say that they are handcrafted by the same artisans who have crafted those sought after high end leather goods pieces by Prada, Salvatore Ferragamo, and Gucci just to name a few.

Made from a bevy of posh and exotic materials such as snake skin, leather, and even solid precious metals such as gold, to date, Vita accessories are carried by more than 20 stores around the world as well as within the cyberspace.

Besides enjoying high publicity through the wrists of highly celebrated celebrities and trendsetters of Hollywood such as Desperate Housewives and Over Her Dead Body actress Eva Longoria, who sported a stack of them at an event recently, Vita accessories too enjoyed high exposure from the global media.

Glossy fashion bibles such as inStyle, Glamour, Vogue, and Harper's Bazaar in a variety of international editions are known to feature not just one but most of the must-have pieces on their hallowed 'must have' accessories pages. Not to mention on renowned online fashion digest too such as Kuwaiti's Dia Diwan.

Thinking on how to spice up your wardrobe this summer? All you have to do is just add a stack of Vita's snakeskin bangles in a plethora of vivid summer colors and you're ready to rock the town. Isn't that simple, girls?

At the moment, the closest retailer to Malaysia that carries these lovely 'it' bangles are Quintessential and Bag Aficionados in Singapore but soon, you don't have to travel south anymore because Vita accessories will be available to the fashion hunger masses of Malaysia at the chic Lush Icon boutique, located in Avenue K.

So girls, start saving up now and invest in these intricate pieces of luxury from Vita by Cynthia Sakai for this summer. Vita's spring/summer 2008 bangles and other accessories will be available exclusively to Lush Icon this July.

People are talking about ... Sex and the City The Movie

0 fashionistas wrote ...
The world is talking and patiently anticipating. After ending its last episode four years ago, leaving fans in pools of tears, cult series Sex and the City (SATC) is back but with a twist ... they're heading for the silver screen!

Oh, I still remember those good old days when Sex and the City series were aired on the TV screen. Contrary to what we have thought, SATC successfully reached Malaysian TV households despite of its cheeky title and the nature of the series - sex, love, and ... yeah, sex. I was 15 when the series first shown on HBO s
o I missed quite the first three seasons. Only after I turned 18, I instantly devoted myself to the series.

Love stories and sex escapade aside, it was no other than the on-screen fashion parade that caught my attention and led to my conversion into one of SATC die-hards.

Be it Carrie, Charlottte, Samantha, or Miranda, I bet most women around the world would envy these girls for having a wardrobe filled with immense choices of designer clothes, shoes, and bags. But of course, it's always Carrie's wardrobe that seduces me the most.

To say it in my own words, Carrie's wardrobe may not look like what Sarah Jessica Parker had in her real life (probably a room that is as big as a Chanel boutique or something) but it got everything inside it.

Balenciaga? Check. John Galliano newspaper print cowl dress for Dior? Check. Chanel dress with oversized flower brooch worn as headpiece during baby Brady's christening? Check. It bags? Check. Lines of Manolos, Louboutins, and Choos? Also checked.

And the best part is - whatever she wears, it'll turn into a fashion must have and ladies around the world would scramble to the nearest Prada or Gucci to get whatever they saw clinging to her petite but svelte body.

The same goes to the other girls - Samantha, Charlotte, and Miranda. Did you know that Birkin orders soared after it was featured in one of the SATC episodes, where it was one of Samantha's craving. Too bad the wait list was long and that prompted her to use Lucy Liu's name just to cut the line.

Now lets move to the movie. Touted as one of the must watch movies of the year, Sex and the City Movie is no less different than the serial version.

In the movie, Carrie is now a successful author with her own assistant Louise (played by Jennifer Hudson), Charlotte lives the life she always dreamed of - a good husband and an adopted daughter whom she loves so much, while Miranda too is happy with her life.

But there's something awkward about this movie. Samantha has shifted to Los Angeles with her live-in boyfriend Jarod Smith and of course, Samantha is always Samantha - SATC's pragmatic resident whore that we all loved.

So Carrie is no longer looking for love since they have made it official while in Paris (remember "An American Girl in Paris - Part Une and Deux"?) and is going to get married but as usual, there's always twists here and there that makes me wondering "what will happen next?"

And dear, always look forward to the eclectic fashion offerings that will make you green with envy, probably greener than the Hulk.

Amidst the liberal flow of Cosmopolitan, spotted in the movie are Prada bags, lots of Manolos, Chanel fine jewelries, Diane Von Furstenberg printed dresses, and lots and lots of vintage pieces, thanks to the superb stylist Patricia Field.

Oops, looks like I already have my eyes on Carrie's vintage Eiffel Tower bag and please, don't expect to see a sight of Bitten by SJP in this movie. Anyway, here's the common question that we all got in our mind - "Will Carrie marry the love of her life - Mr. Big?" Well ladies, let's just cross our fingers, go to the cinemas, and see for ourselves if she gets married in the end or not.

Sex and the City the Movie will hit cinemas in Malaysia by July 2008 while the movie will be debuted in the US on May 30th 2008.

Orange is the new black!

3 fashionistas wrote ...
Orange is the new black! All over the fashion globe, orange is the hue du jour and global fashionistas are busy stocking dresses and accessories in orange just as if they are stocking the round and juicy citrus fruit in the markets.

Fresh and zesty, this bright and fun color has majestically graced the runways of Chloé in Paris and down to Versace in Milan since last September (Fashion Week my dear).

Recently, socialite and
(so-called) multi-talented entrepreneur Paris Hilton was spotted by the Paps in a floral print orange sleeveless dress and paired with all-white accessories while style doyenne Victoria Beckham walks out in a (probably Versace) stunning mini dress, also in orange.

So ladies, here are the top three orange dresses that every woman should have in her closet for spring/summer 2008. Check them out!

I love this lovely satin shift because first, shift dresses are in this season and nothing screams enchantment and magic other than this shift. Belted at the waist with obi-styled self-belt, it has a scooped neck, three-quarter length sleeves, and pleat detailing on both front and back. DKNY, ₤ 219.07 at net-a-porter.com

Diane von Furstenberg's orange cotton knit bandeau dress catches my attention. I love the front detailing - the large box pleat that looks like a maze, with two side pockets and knee-length hem. Another great alternative for day and can be worn for night as well. ₤308.93, at net-a-porter.com.

Matthew Williamson incorporates the world into his designs with exquisite tribal touch. This African beaded tank dress features intricate beadworks inspired by the African tribal beadworks at the yoke and sports a racer back. ₤792.00 at net-a-porter.com

Apart from Net-a-Porter, these marvelous summer pieces are also available at their respective boutiques as well as multibrand stores and department stores worldwide.
